Storage Engineer

Sr. Storage Engineer 100% remote opportunity. Candidates must have experience with these 3 technologies to be considered: Quantum Tape Library, DELL/ EMC Powerstore, and Veritas Netbackup. This is a long-term contract position that can go for 5 years. At this time we are only accepting USA Citizen candidates. Task and responsibilities in this role include, but are not limited to the following: Develops advanced technical solutions for the management of software, hardware, configurations, and architectures. Provides interpretation to systems matters that are highly complex in nature. Provides troubleshooting support for system hardware and software issues that are highly difficult in scope. Leads complex data/media recoverability following a schedule of system backups and database archive operations. Use advanced techniques in hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines. Architect, design, install, configure, support, and maintain storage, including associated hardware for Storage and Backup Solutions. Design and operate Storage Area Network (SAN), and Network Attached Storage (NAS) Design, operate and maintaining backup solutions Responsible for defining and supporting the enterprise storage service architecture Lead the transformation of storage services to ensure service is aligned with the key principles of service ownership which includes: meeting the needs of the business, cost effectiveness, scalability, compliance, reliability, and resilience Update to new technologies, tuning performance, allocating storage space, and prioritizing the implementation of critical system patches Develop and update Operations Guides for NOC/Operations engineers NFS and Block Storage Experience Understanding of enterprise architecture Experience with network switches, fiber channel and VLAN configuration Working project management knowledge, processes, and procedures Experience in Backup Recovery & Storage Tools Experience in Veritas NetBackup Experience in backup and recovery operations Experience handling procedures for disk and tape-based backups, Veritas NetBackup, and Storage Gateway Service (SGS)

Required Skills and Experience Requires BA/BS (or equivalent experience), 10+ years of experience Experience with Quantum Tape Library Experience with DELL EMC PowerStore Experience designing and operating Storage Area Network (SAN), and Network Attached Storage (NAS); as well as migrating/consolidating SAN/NAS Experience designing, operating and maintaining backup solutions to include experience with Netbackup Solutions Boot from SAN experience Brocade Network Advisor experience Brocade Fiber Channel switches
