About the role
Role: Technology Lead Vendor/Client: Apex/Delhaize Rate $50/hr on W2 Location: 100% remote Duration: 6+ months 1. Top 3 requirements: • Leadership experience- This person will be leading a team of 10 • Understanding of .Net, SQL Server and Windows server • Basic understanding of networking and firewalls • 2. Day to Day Responsibilities/project specifics: • This person will be responsible for leading and team of 10 and providing guidance on analytics and configuration of SQL and windows servers. This team is not responsible for development. They will need a basic understanding of networking to be able to work with and talk to the infrastructure team. • Bill described his job [the following is a new write-up, not an exact recap of what he said on the call]: • His time is mostly spent either supporting projects, being a technical resource for the team or doing technical documentation and training and related tasks. • Bill's work on projects is not in the roles of project manager, business consultant or systems analyst. After starting in his new job last year, he wrapped up his SE assignments in about a month and transitioned his application support to a contractor who had already begun supporting one of his apps to help shoulder demand during the fiscal calendar projects. He particularly enjoys not having to do PM work. • He usually asks to be added to projects in PPM as a team member to avoid confusion with other roles, especially IT Lead or Solutions Manager. • He is involved in the initial engagement of IT Finance on other towers' projects in lieu of having a business consultant do it, since it does not require PM work and frees up the Finance business consultants to focus on Finance projects. Some examples of this are Fresh Meat Facility 2.0 and the King Kullen Acquisition. • Bill also acts as a SME on Finance and other towers' projects, e.g., FIT, Extending the Certification app to DA )and Perpetual Inventory. • Last year he had several special assignments on the Saturn Finance program, especially Genpact, that consumed most of his (and the team's) time for a better part of the year. His tasks have been scaled back on that now to occasional technical consulting and helping oversee and coordinate the final access provisioning needed for Genpact users and Finance users in Salisbury. • Bill has helped coordinate resources and tasks for several infrastructure projects, like the cross-company access project and the Greenville Data Center Refresh. • He was involved in the O365 pilot starting in early May, 2018, and he has gathered and shared documentation and provided and recorded training sessions for the team on its tools. He has also provided other training, including on Control-D. • Bill is working with the rest of the team to develop the team's new SharePoint site and also collect additional technical documentation to supplement the APM and help reduce or eliminate fire drills needed to research the impacts of new projects, especially infrastructure and system software upgrades. -- Thanks & Regards, K.
