Windows Systems Admin

Minimum Qualifications   Associates degree in a technical discipline or equivalent work experience 3+ years as a Systems Administrator utilizing Windows Operating systems for a large, networked environment Strong knowledge of the following technologies/services: Microsoft technologies: Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, etc. Networking: VLANs, TCP/IP, firewall, switches, routing, etc. Services: DNS, DHCP, NTP, etc. AWS services: EC2, VPC, CloudFormation, etc. Strong analytical and independent problem-solving skills Knowledge of current computer security practices and network protocols Self-motivated, results-oriented, attentive to detail, and have a positive demeanor Excellent written and verbal communication skills Preferred Qualifications Experience with Role Based Access Controls and tenants of least privilege access Familiarity with Microsoft System Center product suite for monitoring and patch management Intermediate/Advanced PowerShell scripting experience Experience in a 24x7 support environment Experience managing Windows servers in VMware Six or other hypervisor environments Experience migrating server workloads to AWS Duties and Responsibilities Administer Windows server operating systems Participate in planning for system relocation, consolidation and/or optimization Create, document, and preferably automate a repeatable process to install, configure, and harden Windows servers in the AWS cloud Work with Cloud team to incorporate AWS best practices Implement and use monitoring and reporting tools that allow for preventative action Test software including the impact of software updates and patches Troubleshoot hardware and software systems Maintain data recoverability.
