Process Engineering – Work Document

About the internship: We are looking for a Process Engineering Intern to analyze, document, and optimize operational processes across the organization. The intern will work closely with the operations team to understand existing workflows, identify inefficiencies, and recommend improvements that enhance productivity, reduce turnaround time (TAT), and improve resource utilization. Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include: 1. Study and document existing operational workflows across different departments. 2. Interact with process owners to understand current processes and gather operational requirements. 3. Create process maps, flowcharts, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for key business operations. 4. Observe day-to-day operations to identify bottlenecks, delays, and process inefficiencies. 5. Analyze turnaround time (TAT) across various process stages and recommend improvements. 6. Evaluate workload distribution and suggest line balancing strategies to improve productivity. 7. Collect, analyze, and interpret operational data to identify trends and optimization opportunities. 8. Apply basic operations research concepts such as capacity planning, queue analysis, and resource optimization. 9. Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations highlighting process improvements and key insights. 10. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and monitor recommended process enhancements.
