About the role
Role Overview: As a Senior Developer in Applications Development at TransUnion, you will lead the design and delivery of enterprise-scale AI/GenAI solutions across a polyglot stack, ensuring scalability, performance, security, and responsible AI. You will serve as a trusted technical leader, defining architecture standards, patterns, and best practices while mentoring engineers, data scientists, and architects. Your role will involve driving PoCs and technical evaluations of emerging AI/GenAI technologies, aligning innovations with business outcomes, and bridging business stakeholders and engineering teams. Key Responsibilities: - Architect end-to-end AI platforms integrating various components using Python services and Java microservices - Define standards for APIs, security, observability, and SLIs/SLOs - Establish coding, versioning, monitoring governance for ML systems - Lead LLM finetuning/evaluation/deployment and design retrieval pipelines - Build LangChain4j pipelines and interoperable services - Optimize embeddings chunking retrieval/ranking for latency, precision, and cost - Guide deployments on cloud platforms using Docker/Kubernetes and managed ML services - Mentor engineers and architects, contribute reusable assets, and engage vendors/partners - Advocate responsible AI and internal knowledge-sharing Qualifications Required: - Expertise in Python with PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn, and Hugging Face Transformers - Advanced Java skills with frameworks like Spring Boot, Quarkus, and Micronaut - Familiarity with GenAI frameworks, JVM ML/Inference, APIs & Data, Search & Vector, Streaming & Messaging - Experience with MLflow/DVC, CI/CD pipelines, containers & orchestration, and cloud services - Strong analytical skills in statistics, hypothesis testing, and experimental design - Proven track record leading AI/ML teams/projects end-to-end with excellent stakeholder communication Additional Details: This is a hybrid position that involves performing job responsibilities virtually and in-person at an assigned TransUnion office location for a minimum of two days a week.
