About TresVista and Descrial
TresVista is a global platform providing sophisticated solutions to clients combining domain expertise, technology, and human capital. Our unique model allows clients to achieve excellence through embracing best in class AI and human capital with an offshore resource model. Descrial, the dedicated technology product unit, is at the forefront of innovation leveraging AI and intelligent automation to build workflow-native solutions. Our approach goes beyond traditional product development, integrating design research, data engineering, and applied AI to build solutions that are scalable, evidence-based, and user-centric. For experienced product leaders and technologists. Descrial offers the opportunity to define next-generation tools that transform how investment professionals interact with data and make decisions. Descrial is focused on building solutions delivering smarter and faster ways to conduct diligence, analysis, and make investment decisions.
Overview As a Backend Support Engineer on the OS and Workflow+ team, you will maintain and support the Java/Spring Boot microservices that power the core Descrial platform — including work requests, user management, collaboration, notifications, integrations (D365, Darwinbox), document management, and scheduling. You will triage production issues, debug service interactions, monitor system health via Grafana dashboards, and work closely with development teams to resolve incidents and improve reliability.
Roles and Responsibilities Production support and incident management Triage, diagnose, and resolve production issues across the Spring Boot microservices Debug inter-service communication issues across Spring Cloud Gateway and OpenFeign-based synchronous calls Investigate data-layer issues across polyglot persistence stores — PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Elasticsearch Coordinate with development teams for root cause analysis and permanent fixes; contribute to hotfixes when appropriate
Monitoring, ing, and observability Build and maintain Grafana dashboards using Prometheus metrics exposed via Spring Boot Actuator and Micrometer Configure and tune s in Grafana for service-level SLIs (latency, error rate, saturation) and business-critical workflows (e.g. internal user assignment flows, D365 sync) Analyze structured logs (Logstash JSON encoder / Logback) and distributed traces for incident investigation Monitor AWS SQS/SNS message queues (notification of fan-out, feedback events) for dead-letter build-up and processing delays
Cloud infrastructure and DevOps Support services deployed on AWS (ECS/EKS-style containers); debug container health, networking, and resource constraints Work with AWS services: S3 (document storage), SQS/SNS (async messaging), SES (email), Cognito (auth), Secrets Manager, and SSM Parameter Store Assist with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Gradle 8.3, JaCoCo/SonarQube quality gates); investigate and resolve build/test failures Support Docker Compose and Kubernetes deployments across dev, QA, UAT, and production environments
Database and schema support Troubleshoot query performance issues in PostgreSQL and MongoDB; review slow-query logs and execution plans Support schema migrations via Flyway and Liquibase; validate migration scripts in staging before production rollout
Prerequisites
1–3 years in backend support or development; strong Java and Spring Boot fundamentals Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and at least one NoSQL database (MongoDB preferred) Working knowledge of RESTful APIs, JSON, and microservice communication patterns (Feign/REST clients) Proficiency with Grafana dashboards, Prometheus metrics, and configuration Experience with AWS services (S3, SQS, SNS, ECS/EKS, CloudWatch) Familiarity with Git, Linux, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines Strong debugging and log analysis skills; comfort with structured logging and distributed tracing
Good to Have Experience with Spring Cloud Gateway, Elasticsearch, or ShedLock Exposure to Kubernetes (kubectl, pod debugging, service DNS) Familiarity with OAuth2/JWT auth flows and AWS Cognito Knowledge of Microsoft Graph API or Dynamics 365 integrations
Experience 1–3 years in backend support or development; strong Java and Spring Boot fundamentals
Education Bachelor’s in engineering or related (or equivalent experience from a strong technical background)
Compensation
The compensation structure will be as per industry standards
Java, Springboot, Microservices, API, Rest API, PostgrSQL, MongoDB, Grafana, Prometheus, AWS, Amazon S3, Kubernetes
