About the role
7-11 years of experience in Electrical Engineering, EPC Projects, Industrial Projects, Water/Wastewater, Process Plants, Infrastructure or Manufacturing Projects. Minimum 35 years of experience leading engineering and project execution teams. Job Purpose To lead the Electrical Engineering, Proposal, Estimation and Project Execution functions by ensuring technically sound, commercially competitive, and timely delivery of electrical systems from tender stage through engineering, procurement support, installation, testing, commissioning and project handover. The role is responsible for managing Electrical Project Engineers and the Electrical Proposal & Estimation team while ensuring compliance with applicable standards, client specifications and project requirements. Key Roles & Responsibilities 1. Electrical Engineering Lead complete electrical engineering activities for EPC and turnkey projects. Review client specifications, tender documents and design criteria. Prepare and approve electrical design basis documents. Develop and review Single Line Diagrams (SLD). Prepare electrical load calculations. Prepare transformer sizing calculations. Prepare DG sizing calculations. Prepare cable sizing calculations. Perform voltage drop calculations. Perform short circuit calculations. Prepare protection coordination studies. Prepare breaker selection calculations. Prepare fault level calculations. Prepare busbar sizing calculations. Prepare earthing calculations. Prepare lightning protection design. Prepare illumination calculations. Prepare battery and UPS sizing calculations. Review harmonics and power quality requirements. Prepare electrical design reports. Ensure compliance with IS, IEC, IEEE, NBC and client specifications. 2. Detailed Engineering Review and approve: Single Line Diagrams (SLD) General Arrangement Drawings Electrical Room Layouts Cable Tray Layouts Cable Routing Drawings Cable Schedules Cable Tray Schedules Earthing Layouts Lightning Protection Layouts Transformer Layouts DG Layouts Panel GA Drawings Bus Duct Layouts Lighting Layouts Power Distribution Layouts Equipment Layouts Foundation Drawings (Electrical Inputs) Electrical BOQ Material Take-Off (MTO) Bill of Materials (BOM) 3. Proposal, Costing & Estimation Lead the Electrical Proposal and Estimation Team. Responsibilities include: Review tender enquiries. Prepare technical deviations. Prepare commercial deviations. Prepare detailed BOQs. Prepare complete BOMs. Prepare electrical costing. Prepare estimation sheets. Review vendor quotations. Conduct techno-commercial evaluations. Optimize design for cost competitiveness. Identify value engineering opportunities. Prepare budgetary proposals. Prepare final commercial offers. Prepare project cost analysis. Develop standard costing databases. Analyze project profitability. Support contract negotiations. 4. Procurement Support Prepare technical specifications for procurement. Finalize vendor technical requirements. Review vendor offers. Conduct technical bid evaluations. Approve vendor drawings. Coordinate inspections and factory acceptance tests (FAT). Resolve technical issues with vendors. Support procurement during manufacturing and dispatch. 5. Project Execution Lead Electrical Project Engineers during project execution. Responsibilities include: Project planning. Resource planning. Material planning. Engineering coordination. Site coordination. Installation planning. Progress monitoring. Quality monitoring. Schedule tracking. Risk identification. Issue resolution. Client coordination. Consultant coordination. Contractor coordination. Internal department coordination. Testing & Commissioning Support Provide engineering support for: Pre-commissioning activities. Transformer testing. HT panel testing. LT panel testing. Cable insulation testing. Earth resistance testing. Relay testing. Protection testing. Functional testing. Load trials. Performance testing. Client inspections. Final handover documentation. 7. Team Management Lead and mentor: Electrical Project Engineers Electrical Design Engineers Proposal & Estimation Engineers Drafting Team Responsibilities include: Work allocation.
