The Technical Service & Development (TS&D) Engineer is responsible for providing technical expertise, customer support, and application development solutions for a portfolio of polymer materials, including ABS, PC/ABS, TPEs, TPUs, and PMMA. This role serves as a key interface between customers and internal functions, ensuring successful material selection, qualification, and implementation across diverse applications, primarily within the automotive and plastics industries. The TS&D Engineer will lead technical discussions, support product trials and validations, investigate and resolve customer complaints, troubleshoot processing and performance-related issues, and provide data-driven recommendations to optimize product performance. Working closely with customers, sales, R&D, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams. The position plays a critical role in driving customer satisfaction, supporting new business development, enabling cost optimization initiatives (VAVE), and delivering innovative material solutions that help the customer. Responsibilities: Technical Support & Customer Engagement Provide comprehensive technical support to customers by addressing product-related inquiries, resolving complaints, and delivering effective solutions. Plan, coordinate, and execute product trials to validate material performance and application suitability. Lead technical discussions with customers and internal stakeholders, offering expert guidance on material selection and application development. Recommend appropriate material grades based on performance requirements, processing conditions, and end-use applications. Troubleshoot processing and product performance issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions. Identify cost-saving opportunities at customer by proposing better solutions using Trinseo materials. Capture, document, and share technical learnings and best practices to support continuous improvement and knowledge development. Testing, Validation & Analysis Coordinate material testing and validation activities through internal and external laboratories to ensure compliance with customer and industry requirements. Conduct root cause analysis for quality, processing, and performance-related issues, and drive resolution through data-based recommendations. Perform competitive benchmarking and alternative material evaluations to support product positioning, cost optimization, and customer requirements. Analyze test results and prepare detailed technical reports to support decision-making and customer communication. Project Coordination & Data Management Support new product development, localization, and cost optimization projects in collaboration with cross-functional teams. Work closely with the commercial team to identify and update new application developments and business opportunities. Maintain and manage technical databases, including material specifications, performance data, and OEM-approved grade listings. Coordinate compliance-related activities, certifications, and regulatory documentation to meet customer and industry standards. Manage IMDS submissions and customer compliance requirements in collaboration with internal departments and external stakeholders. Facilitate effective communication between customers, sales, R&D, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure successful project execution and timely delivery of technical solutions. Qualifications: Qualifications: Education Bachelors Degree (B.Tech./B.E.) in Polymer Science, Polymer Engineering, Plastics Engineering or CIPET Graduate Experience Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant industry experience in a customer-facing technical role within the polymers, plastics, or specialty materials industry. Demonstrated expertise in polymer processing Overvi
