The ideal candidate should be capable of architecting scalable applications, driving technical decisions, managing development workflows, ensuring code quality, and collaborating with product and business stakeholders. This role requires both hands-on coding and technical leadership. Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership Lead and manage a team of backend developers.Define backend architecture, coding standards, and development best practices.Conduct code reviews and ensure high-quality deliverables.Mentor junior and mid-level developers.Participate in technical planning, estimations, and sprint management.Drive continuous improvement in development processes and team productivity.Backend Development Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using PHP and Laravel.Build and optimize RESTful APIs and backend services.Integrate third-party APIs, payment gateways, and external systems.Design efficient database structures and optimize queries.Implement authentication, authorization, and security best practices.Troubleshoot production issues and ensure system stability.Architecture & Performance Design scalable and maintainable system architectures.Improve application performance, reliability, and security.Implement caching, queues, background jobs, and monitoring solutions.Collaborate with DevOps teams for deployment and infrastructure optimization.Collaboration Work closely with Product Managers, Frontend Developers, QA, and DevOps teams.Translate business requirements into technical solutions.Participate in stakeholder discussions and technical decision-making.Required Skills & Qualifications Technical Skills 4+ years of experience in PHP development.3+ years of hands-on experience with Laravel Framework.Strong understanding of:Laravel EcosystemREST APIsMVC ArchitectureOOP PrinciplesDesign PatternsSOLID PrinciplesExpertise in MySQL/PostgreSQL database design and optimization.Experience with:RedisQueue Management (Laravel Queues)Caching StrategiesAPI IntegrationsAuthentication & AuthorizationProficiency in Git and version control workflows.Leadership Skills Experience leading a team of developers.Strong code review and mentoring capabilities.Ability to manage technical delivery and deadlines.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.Preferred Qualifications Experience with microservices architecture.Knowledge of Docker and containerized deployments.Familiarity with AWS, DigitalOcean, Azure, or GCP.Experience with CI/CD pipelines.Knowledge of system scalability and high-traffic applications.Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies.Experience with SaaS products or logistics/e-commerce platforms.Nice to Have Laravel HorizonLaravel OctaneElasticsearch/OpenSearchWebSocketsUnit Testing (PHPUnit/Pest)Event-driven architectureDomain-Driven Design (DDD)Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Timely project delivery.Code quality and maintainability.API performance and system uptime.Team productivity and mentoring effectiveness.Reduction in technical debt.Successful implementation of scalable solutions.What We Are Looking For A hands-on technical leader who: Can independently design and build backend systems.Takes ownership of technical decisions.Leads and motivates a development team.Balances business requirements with engineering excellence.Maintains high coding standards while delivering results.Reporting To: CTO Team Size: 510 Developers (depending on organization size) Expected Notice Period: Immediate to 15 Days Preferred.
