Requirements Must Have: Experience in designing complex relational (OLTP) & dimensional (OLAP) data models across diverse data ecosystems Specialization in one of the prominent RDBMS (Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server etc.) & NoSQL(Mongo DB) Manage version-controlled schema evolutions without causing downtime, to support high availability for mission critical systems like corporate payment channels Ability to conceive and design performance oriented databases using clustered, non-clustered, and partial indexes, in addition to knowledge of configuring memory buffers, caching layers, and CPU priorities for maximum throughput. Ability to use database profiling tools to analyze execution plans and rewrite inefficient queries to remove performance bottlenecks. Nice to Have(May become required in long-term): Scaling & Load Balance implementation exposure with knowledge of database sharding and distributed clustering to handle massive read/write volumes.
