About the role
As a Technical Specialist, your role will involve supporting operational systems, data pipelines, and backend workflows by combining technical troubleshooting, automation, and workflow management skills. You will serve as the technical backbone of the operations team, ensuring system reliability, supporting data infrastructure, and resolving complex technical issues. Your strong SQL skills, experience with APIs and ETL processes, and proactive mindset will be vital in improving operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities: - Perform first-level technical troubleshooting and escalate issues to engineering teams - Provide weekend escalation coverage and coordinate with on-call technical teams - Support operational changes within data pipelines and workflow systems - Execute scripts and automated processes for operational and developer support queues - Run data acquisition and processing tasks through APIs and backend systems - Monitor and maintain high-volume data pipelines - Identify system failures, bottlenecks, and workflow inefficiencies - Collaborate with engineering teams to recommend technical improvements and process optimizations - Manage ETL workflows, including data extraction, transformation, and transfer processes - Act as the primary point of contact for technical operational support requests - Resolve technical issues beyond standard operational troubleshooting capabilities - Conduct technical audits and backend data validation activities - Execute complex database queries to ensure data integrity and operational health - Bridge communication and workflow gaps between engineering and operations teams Required Technical Skills: - Basic Python knowledge for backend scripting and automation - Advanced SQL skills with experience writing and optimizing complex queries - Experience working with RESTful APIs for data extraction and integration - Ability to manage backend workflows and automation scripts - Understanding of ETL processes and data pipeline operations - Experience monitoring and troubleshooting automated workflows - Familiarity with operational data systems and backend process management Qualifications: - Senior-level experience in technical operations, system support, data infrastructure, or related technical roles - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities - Ability to build, improve, and optimize workflows - Experience collaborating with engineering and operations teams - Strong communication and coordination skills in cross-functional environments The company's work environment includes a hybrid technical and operational support role, collaboration with various teams, potential weekend support coverage, and a fast-paced operational setting with evolving priorities.
