Role & responsibilities Job Description Design & Development Head Desired Skills & Qualification o Design Software – AutoCad, Solidworks & FEA o Education – B.Tech or M.Tech Mechanical o Experience working in a supervisory role in the manufacturing industry must o Experience in Design & Development of machines must. o Led multi-disciplinary engineering team comprising of Mechanical, Electrical & Automation, Manufacturing o Able to deal with multiple projects simultaneously o Knowledge of 5S, Lean, TQM, Kaizen must o Ability to plan & assign work responsibilities to team o Organizational skills & willingness to take accountability o Computer Skills – MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint Job Responsibilities & Duties o Design & Development o New product development. o Work closely with draftsmen/engineers by providing necessary guidance & approval to them during drafting activity of machines o Discuss & clarify drawing related issues with our manufacturing teams & vendors as and when needed. o Discuss requirements with customers to provide solutions as per their requirement o Travel to different places for studying machines for new product development. o Manages o Design team o Routine Responsibilities o Ensures that all functions of the design department are functioning properly and all project are completed on time. o Continuously focus on reducing cost – Selecting right material, reducing cutting allowance, reducing machining, etc o Maintaining & updating drawing records for all the machines drawings created & handed for manufacturing o Work closely with manufacturing team for any design modifications or manufacturing activity related support. o Point of contact for manufacturing team for design department. o Time to time reporting to management for work planning. o Guiding draftsmen in design activities & supervise all activities of draftsmen. o Implement 5S, TQM process improvements in machine drawing activity o Act as a change agent & continuously focus on time reduction, resource optimization to speed up the machine manufacturing activity & improve performance. o Any other relevant duty as assigned by the Management.
