Job Description
This role acts as a trusted cybersecurity authority within GMA, combining regulatory expertise with strategic advisory capabilities. The specialist contributes to GMA Knowledge strategy, leads cybersecurity related initiatives, and supports the development of new digital and regulatory services. The role may act as as primary contact for cybersecurity related schemes and represent UL in external regulatory, technical, and stakeholder forums.
Responsibilities

Serve as the primary cybersecurity regulatory expert for market access across multiple countries, schemes, and digital programs.

Provide authoritative guidance on cybersecurity regulations, standards, and compliance frameworks, such as product security, software assurance, cloud security, data protection, and digital trust.

Lead activities supporting GMA business expansion in cybersecurity‑related services, including opportunity identification, scope definition, and tracking of business results from COUs.

Support transversal knowledge across cybersecurity schemes, regions, and regulatory systems (e.g., mandatory requirements, voluntary schemes, and emerging regulations).

Advise GMA leaders and managers on strategy definition, initiative prioritization, regulatory developments, and performance monitoring related to cybersecurity offerings.

Analyze and assess new, emerging, or complex cybersecurity regulations beyond current coverage, including their impact on customers, platforms, and UL service models.

Contribute to the development and evolution of cybersecurity‑focused GMA services, including digital, platform‑based, or data‑driven solutions.

Provide high‑value advisory services to internal and external stakeholders on cybersecurity market access strategies, helping customers navigate complex regulatory environments.

Act as a strategic advisor to business units and clients, translating cybersecurity regulatory requirements into actionable guidance and tailored service solutions that drive compliance and commercial success.

Provide leadership and expert counsel on complex, high‑impact, or non‑standard cybersecurity projects, including cross‑border and multi‑stakeholder initiatives.

Represent UL in regulatory, technical committees, industry working groups, and stakeholder meetings focused on cybersecurity and digital trust.

Ensure compliance with the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and all physical and digital security requirements.

Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, IT, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity, regulatory compliance, or global market access.
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity regulations, standards, and frameworks (e.g., product security, cloud, software, data protection).
- Experience working with international regulatory requirements and multi-country schemes.
- Proven ability to analyze complex or emerging regulations and translate them into business impact.
- Experience supporting business growth and service development in cybersecurity or compliance-related areas.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience advising leadership and customers.
- Demonstrated ability to work in global, cross-functional environments and lead complex initiatives.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
