Job Purpose This position will be responsible for planning, developing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to ensure efficient production. The role focus es on improving productivity,maintaining quality standards, reducing costs, and ensuring safe operations on the shop floor. Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and improve manufacturing processes for automotive parts and assemblies Develop, design, and validate jigs and fixtures to support efficient and accurate manufacturing operations Introduce and integrate jigs and fixtures into production lines to improve productivity, repeatability, and safety Coordinate with design and tooling teams for fixture modifications and continuous improvement Execute and maintain process documentation and production records, including SOPs, control plans, work instructions, and daily production reports Ensure accurate data entry and traceability of production activities for audits and quality compliance Monitor daily production activities to ensure targets, quality, and safety standards are met Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions to enhance productivity and efficiency Coordinate with design, quality, and maintenance teams for seamless operations Ensure adherence to industry standards such as lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and safety protocols Analyse production data and prepare reports on performance metrics (OEE, downtime, rejection rates) Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) Optimize resource utilization including manpower, machinery, and materials Support new product introduction (NPI) and process validation Required Skills & Qualifications Bachelors degree in mechanical, Automobile, or Production Engineering Hands-on experience or understanding of jig and fixture design principles Familiarity with automotive standards like ISO/TS 16949 (IATF 16949) Knowledge of process documentation practices and production record management Understanding of tools such as CAD/CAM, ERP systems, and production planning software Problem-solving skills using Root Cause Analysis, FMEA, and Kaizen Good communication and teamwork skills Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Qualification & Experience Qualification: B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering Experience: At least 5 years of experience in automotive manufacturing Hands on Experience in tooling development or fixture validation, process documentation. Excellent communication and coordination skills Knowledge of production planning tools and techniques Preferred Exposure: Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes (machining, welding, assembly, etc.) IATF 16949, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 systems Lean / TPM / Six Sigma methodologies Understanding of tools such as CAD/CAM, ERP systems, and production planning software
