Job overview and responsibilities United Ops Performance team is responsible to support Network Operations across different functional areas including Reliability & Turn performance, Delay & RCA insights, customer journey, bags, ground time, airport staffing, airport congestion and construction, irregular operations, etc. The Associate Developer will support the Operations Data Products and BI team to design, build and deploy analytical data products including dashboards and web applications to United leadership with the goal of enabling better operational decisions that improve on-time performance and customer experience. The Associate Developer will work with various Ops business groups to understand organizational needs and design requirements, build solutions to support high priority strategic projects. The focus will be to understand and build high-quality datasets that drive BI reporting and analysis and help our Ops leaders to go from data to insights quickly and drive performance. What we are looking for: An analyst who has a passion for data and analytics with the willingness to dig deep into details as well as the ability to assess the big picture. In this role, you will be part of the team which supports Air Operations group in United's Chicago headquarters by gathering data, conducting analysis, building and maintaining dashboards, executive reporting and assisting in ad-hoc decision support. Excellent time management and communication skills are keys to success in this role as the role requires multi-tasking on several initiatives simultaneously. Build high-quality dashboards, tools and reports for Air Operations leadership, eTeam, front-line management, and individual business teams throughout the organizationAutomate existing manual reports and processes to improve operational throughputCurate tables and views that serve as the "single source of truth" for United's operations dataBuild predictive models and analyze results for dissemination of insights to United leadershipPrepare presentations for United leadership and external stakeholdersDesign meaningful metrics that indicate operational health and inform operational decisionsDocument the data landscape, maintain an inventory of reportsThis position is offered on local terms and conditions. QualificationsWhats needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications): Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, Electronics & Communication Engineering, or another quantitative field (i.e. mathematics, statistics, etc.)6 months-2 Years experience in business intelligence, analytics, and/or data engineeringVery strong problem-solving and analytical thinking capabilities with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information and data with attention to detail and accuracyUnderstanding of data structures, relationships, and efficient transformationsKnowledge and application of data visualization best practicesStrong with writing complex queries and procedures using both traditional and modern technologies/languages (i.e. Redshift, SQL server, Postgres, Python, Spark etc.)Working knowledge of BI reporting tools preferably Power BI to produce meaningful, elegant dashboardsProficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPointAbility to learn what a business team does, then design a data/technology solution that connects business processes with quantifiable outcomesExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsDisciplined professional with respect to time and tasks management to work effectively across multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously through appropriate prioritizationMust be legally authorized to work in India for any employer without sponsorshipSuccessful completion of interview process required to meet job qualificationHighly motivated, Professional attitude to adhere organization culture and policies is an essential function of the positionMust be legally authorized to work in India for any employer without sponsorship What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications): Master's Degree in a quantitative field like Math, Statistics, Operations .
