Role Overview: As a software developer in the Data Enablement team at United Airlines Customer Technology Platform department, you will be responsible for developing mission-critical applications in domains such as Baggage, Flight Operations, Reservation Management, and Check-in. Your role will involve building high-performing middleware solutions and real-time messaging applications used by operational and commercial systems across the company. You will work with a team of developers to deliver cloud-based solutions using leading-edge technologies. Key Responsibilities: - Participate in the full development life cycle, including requirements analysis and design - Serve as a technical expert on development projects - Write technical specifications based on conceptual design and business requirements - Support, maintain, and document software functionality - Identify and evaluate new technologies for implementation - Analyze code to identify errors and revise programs as needed - Participate in software design meetings and analyze user needs to determine technical requirements - Consult with end-users to prototype, refine, test, and debug programs - Recognized as an expert in the field, knowledgeable of emerging trends and industry practices - Mentor less experienced peers and display leadership as needed Qualifications Required: - Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Management Information Systems, or equivalent work experience - 2+ years of experience in design, development, testing, and debugging of software systems - Excellent knowledge of object-oriented systems design and application development - Strong knowledge of Java, SQL, and Design Patterns - Experience in Messaging, EAI, CEP, and In-memory Distributed Caching platforms (like Couchbase) - Proficiency in Software Development best practices such as Continuous Integration, Unit/Integration testing, Code reviews - About 4 weeks of travel to the US in a year may be required - Exhibit fluency in written and spoken English - Must be legally authorized to work in India for any employer without sponsorship - Must be fluent in English and Hindi (written and spoken) - Successful completion of an interview required Additional Company Details: This position is offered on local terms and conditions.
