Senior Architect - IT

Role Overview: As a recognized expert in the enterprise architecture discipline at United's Digital Technology team, you will be responsible for defining roadmaps to bridge the gap from the current to future state for business, information, and technology capabilities. Your industry-leading thought leadership will facilitate the development of strategies across multiple disciplines/domains. You will consult on the design of complex enterprise initiatives, provide guidance to project teams, and manage enterprise architecture models and repositories. Your role will involve communicating and marketing the enterprise architecture strategy to ensure the successful delivery of each solution. Key Responsibilities: - Architect and deliver highly-scalable and flexible, cost-effective enterprise solutions - Demonstrate strong AWS experience across various services such as Compute, Databases, and Streaming Services - Collaborate closely with principal architects to deliver required architectures - Anticipate future technology requirements and communicate them to leadership and multi-functional teams - Understand the current state of the organization-wide architecture and identify key business drivers and technology capabilities needed to achieve the optimal state - Coordinate with collaborator teams to define use cases, goals, objectives, and architecture supporting business needs - Build relationships with senior leadership, engage, and evangelize recommendations to senior leadership teams Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business - 6+ years of applicable experience in business, information, or technology architecture - Experience in leading technical staff or coordinating work across multiple technology teams Additional Company Details: United Airlines believes in inclusion propelling innovation and is guided by the Shared Purpose: "Connecting people. Technical Skills: - Design applications using AWS cloud architecture & services supporting highly resilient multi-region systems - Experience in common architecture frameworks like Microservices, REST APIs management, and Event-driven architectures - Work with various teams including PlatformOps/DevOps and Development teams - Utilize various tools like Visio, Draw.io, Lucid for cloud architecture designs - Experience in building/integrating AI (ML/GenAI) into solution architectures is a plus - Ability to understand and assist implementation teams using object-oriented programming languages if required Preferred Qualifications: - Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business - Expertise in design and implementation of complex IT solutions - Technical knowledge in the area of expertise and awareness of industry best practices and research Your role will require a combination of technical expertise, business acumen, creativity, innovation, persuasion, strategic thinking, communication skills, integrity, trust, prioritization, and the ability to make insightful business decisions to drive successful outcomes.
