About the role
As a Senior Manager of Environment & Safety at United Breweries Ltd. in Aurangabad, Maharashtra, India, your responsibilities will include: - Safety and Legal Compliance management: - Prepare a legal matrix and calendar, defining roles and responsibilities for all plant employees (across on-roll employee and contract workforce) - Drive adherence to laid down legal requirements and statutory submissions (monthly, half-yearly and yearly) - Coordinate with statutory bodies/agencies for approvals on plans, in coordination with HR - Identify pending items in Material Review Meetings from a statutory perspective and collaborate with plant teams for planning for necessary action in the following month - Submit safety, health and environment related reports to local Govt. agencies (e.g. department of factories) on a periodic basis and annual returns, as required - Participate in Toolbox Talks with plant teams explaining hazards involved in the processes, providing necessary PPE to be used and resolving any HSE related issues - Systems, Certifications and Audits: - Ensure all work on site is conducted after receipt of necessary permit, adequate training of workers and with due monitoring of conditions - Conduct risk assessment across all operations, identifying hazards and related risk levels according to categories; Check present controls and determine if any adjustments are required - Facilitate annual audits (electrical and safety) conducted by 3rd parties; Review report findings and close NCs by driving requisite corrective actions - Safety Training and Education: - Organize trainings at the unit for employees, contract workforce, vendors etc. aligned with the annual HSE training calendar - Keep track of training implementation; conduct skill assessments to monitor progress - Train internal resources to make subject matter experts who can then conduct trainings on the shop floor Qualifications required for this role include: - B.E / B.Tech, NEBOSH, Diploma in Industrial Safety - Minimum of 10 years of experience, with a background in FMCG/large industry preferred You will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and compliance standards are met at the plant by overseeing legal requirements, conducting risk assessments, facilitating audits, and providing necessary training to employees to maintain a safe working environment.
