About the role
As a Voice Infrastructure Engineer at Unpod, you will be responsible for architecting and scaling the telephony backbone behind thousands of AI voice agents, where every millisecond matters. Key Responsibilities: - Architect a carrier-grade SIP/SBC infrastructure for AI voice. - Reduce end-to-end latency to less than 500 ms. - Design WebRTC + SIP hybrid systems. - Integrate telephony stacks with STT/TTS/LLM pipelines. - Handle real-world SIP, codec, and NAT challenges even at 2 AM! Qualifications Required: - 3-5+ years of experience with FreeSWITCH, Kamailio, Ribbon, Mediacode, Asterisk, and OpenSIPS. - Strong SIP/SDP knowledge and SBC management. - Hands-on experience with RTP/SRTP, codecs, jitter, and packet loss. - Proficiency in programming languages like C/C++/Rust. - Experience in Linux, networking, and high-availability voice systems. - Bonus: Familiarity with Voice AI tools such as Deepgram, ElevenLabs, Twilio, Kubernetes, CPaaS.
