About the role
As a JAVA Specialist working for Amdocs, you will be involved in analyzing data of diverse scope, requiring strong knowledge in Java technologies, debugging code, and demonstrating good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. You will network with senior internal and external personnel in your area of expertise and work on migration efforts of critical, industry-class products. Your role will involve collaborating closely with team members and clients, mentoring junior team members, and bridging knowledge gaps among team members from different backgrounds. You will also be expected to learn Astadia Factory tools for mainframe transformations and extend existing conversion tools. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing custom plugins, maintaining database objects, and enhancing runtime Java libraries with new functionality. Key Responsibilities: - Utilize expert-level Java knowledge and debugging skills - Extend runtime Java libraries with new functionality - Work in both Java and C# environments - Create custom plugins in Java for project-specific needs - Mentor junior team members on Mainframe migration - Extend existing conversion tools and grammars - Develop scripts in Python Qualifications Required: - BE in Computer Science or equivalent work experience - 5+ years of development professional experience in Java - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Understanding of Java OO concepts - Experience in unit testing, test-driven development, integration testing, and deployment using cloud technologies - Certifications in any cloud technologies - Experience with Waterfall and Agile Development Methodologies Amdocs is a market-leading company that empowers customers to provide next-generation communication and media experiences.
