As a Mechanical Design Engineer at our company, you will play a crucial role in the product development and manufacturing process. You should have at least 5 years of experience in Mechanical Design, with a strong focus on Mold Design, particularly in Injection Mold, Plastic Components, and Tooling. Proficiency in SolidWorks is essential for this role, along with experience in plastic part design, DFM/DFA, GD&T, tolerance stack-up, and manufacturing drawings. Your hands-on involvement in design work is vital, as you will be responsible for creating 3D models, assemblies, detailed drawings, and BOMs independently. Key Responsibilities: - Design and develop plastic and mechanical components for manufacturing - Create detailed 3D CAD models, assemblies, and production drawings in SolidWorks - Collaborate with tooling vendors and manufacturing teams during mold development and trials - Conduct DFM/DFA reviews and support product optimization - Assist in prototype development, testing, validation, and production release - Ensure that designs meet quality, cost, and manufacturability requirements Qualifications Required: - 5+ years of experience in Mechanical Design - Strong hands-on experience in Mold Design (Injection Mold / Plastic Components / Tooling) - Strong proficiency in SolidWorks - Experience in plastic part design, DFM/DFA, GD&T, tolerance stack-up, and manufacturing drawings - Hands-on involvement in current role is required - Experience working with tooling vendors, mold trials, and manufacturability improvements - Ability to independently handle 3D modeling, assemblies, detailed drawings, and BOMs - Experience with sheet metal, fixtures, jigs, or electromechanical assemblies is an added advantage - Medical device industry experience is preferred Additionally, having a background in the medical device or precision engineering industry, experience with Moldflow, tooling validation, or injection molding processes, and a Diploma in Tool & Die/Mechanical Engineering would be advantageous for this role.
