Role Summary

We are seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to design, develop, and deliver scalable software services that enhance the experience of credit card consumers. You will work within a self-organized engineering team, contribute to key architectural and technical decisions, and help drive engineering excellence through modern development practices. Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-quality software services and APIs. Deliver significant components, features, or services with high reliability and performance. Collaborate with Product Management and engineering leadership to achieve business and technical goals. Drive technical innovation within the team and contribute to broader engineering initiatives. Promote engineering best practices, including code quality, testing, and continuous improvement. Partner effectively with cross-functional engineering teams to maximize code reuse and inner-sourcing opportunities. Mentor team members and contribute to a strong engineering culture.

Must-Have Skills & Experience Technical Skills

Strong proficiency in Java or other modern object-oriented programming languages. Deep understanding of Object-Oriented Design (OOD) and SOLID principles . Hands-on experience designing and building RESTful APIs and distributed services. Strong knowledge of HTTP , web services, and service-oriented architectures ( SOA ). Experience developing and operating high-scale, production-grade applications . Solid understanding of software design patterns, performance optimization, and scalability.

Engineering Practices

Proven track record of delivering high-quality software in complex environments. Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) , Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) , and code quality practices. Strong advocate for engineering excellence, including code reviews and automated testing. Ability to troubleshoot, analyze, and solve complex technical problems.

Collaboration & Leadership

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to collaborate across multiple engineering teams and drive technical alignment. Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments. Demonstrated ownership and accountability for end-to-end delivery.

Good-to-Have Skills & Experience

Hands-on experience with AWS Cloud services and cloud-native application development. Experience with microservices architecture and cloud-based distributed systems. Exposure to DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation. Experience working in regulated industries such as Banking, Financial Services, FinTech, Insurance, or Payments. Ability to solve complex real-world business problems in highly regulated environments. Experience with Pair Programming and collaborative development practices. Knowledge of observability, monitoring, logging, and production support best practices.

Preferred Candidate Profile

8+ years of software development experience. Strong backend engineering background with expertise in scalable service development. Passion for building customer-centric solutions and driving technical innovation. Ability to influence technical direction and mentor engineers within the team.

Note:- Job Locations – Chennai, Trivandrum Shift timings – 1Pm to 10pm or 2pm to 11pm(IST) to support UK Client On call support required
