Summary: UST is looking for a highly skilled Rockwell PharmaSuite MES Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the installation, configuration, customization, and integration of the Rockwell PharmaSuite MES platform in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in MES application installation , system configuration , Java-based configuration/customization , and integration with enterprise and shop floor systems including ERP, Level 2 systems, weighing scales, and LIMS . This role requires a strong understanding of manufacturing operations, system connectivity, and technical solution delivery in a regulated manufacturing environment. The candidate will work closely with business users, manufacturing teams, automation teams, quality teams, and IT teams to deliver reliable MES solutions. Key Responsibilities
- PharmaSuite MES Installation and Setup
Install and deploy the Rockwell PharmaSuite MES application across development, test, and production environments. Perform initial setup and environment configuration of the PharmaSuite platform. Support system availability, deployment planning, and technical setup activities. Coordinate with infrastructure and application support teams for installation and environment readiness.
- MES Configuration and Java Customization
Configure PharmaSuite based on business and manufacturing requirements. Set up and maintain MES objects such as:
materials equipment resources workflows recipes users and roles master data
Configure manufacturing process flows, electronic instructions, exception handling, and data collection requirements. Perform Java-based configuration and customization within the PharmaSuite environment wherever required. Support system changes, enhancements, and configuration updates during project and support phases. Work on technical configuration areas that require Java knowledge for system behavior, extensions, or interface handling.
- Integration and Interfaces
Design, support, and troubleshoot interfaces between PharmaSuite MES and other systems. Work on integration with:
ERP systems for production orders, material data, and master data exchange Level 2 / automation systems for machine and process connectivity weighing scales for dispensing and material transactions LIMS for quality-related data exchange
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful interface design, development, and testing. Support end-to-end data flow between MES and connected systems. Troubleshoot interface and connectivity issues across integrated applications and shop floor systems.
- Testing, Deployment, and Support
Perform unit testing and support system integration testing, user acceptance testing, and deployment activities. Investigate and resolve issues related to MES configuration, Java customization, execution, and interfaces. Provide support during go-live, hypercare, and steady-state operations. Analyze incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions. Ensure system changes are implemented in a controlled manner.
- Stakeholder Collaboration
Work closely with manufacturing, quality, automation, IT, and external vendor teams. Participate in workshops, requirement discussions, design reviews, and issue resolution meetings. Provide subject matter expertise and guidance on PharmaSuite capabilities, configuration, and integration best practices. Support user training and knowledge transfer where needed.
Required Skills and Experience
Strong hands-on experience with Rockwell PharmaSuite MES Proven experience in installation, setup, and configuration of PharmaSuite applications Good experience in Java-based configuration, customization, or technical development within MES or related manufacturing systems Strong understanding of MES concepts and pharmaceutical manufacturing processes Experience in system integration with:
ERP systems such as SAP or equivalent Level 2 / automation systems weighing scales LIMS
Good knowledge of manufacturing execution processes such as:
dispensing batch execution material management equipment integration process monitoring
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills Good communication and stakeholder management skills Experience working in pharmaceutical, life sciences, or other regulated manufacturing environments
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor s degree in engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline Experience in MES implementations within pharma, biotech, or life sciences Familiarity with manufacturing system architecture and integration concepts Understanding of ISA-95 concepts is preferred Experience working in global or multi-site MES deployment programs is preferred
Key Competencies
Strong functional and technical understanding of MES systems Ability to independently handle installation, configuration, Java customization, and technical coordination Good understanding of shop floor processes and enterprise system interaction Strong ownership and accountability Ability to work in cross-functional and fast-paced project environments
Nice-to-Have
Experience in recipe configuration and batch process execution Exposure to eBR or shop floor integration use cases Experience with incident management, change management, and release support Ability to support both project delivery and production support activities.
