About the role
You are currently hiring for the position of Product Development Manager Passenger Car Radial (R&D) with a reputed organization. As the Product Development Manager in the Passenger Car Radial (R&D) department, you will be reporting to the Team Lead - PCR. Role Overview: You will be responsible for defining the tyre product development roadmap based on market trends and customer requirements. Your role will involve driving tyre design, material selection, and product performance enhancement initiatives. Additionally, you will coordinate prototype development, simulation, and physical testing activities to ensure compliance with standards such as BIS, ECE, DOT, and other applicable regulations. Collaborating with QA and Homologation teams for certifications and renewals will also be a key aspect of your role. Leading cross-functional projects, managing timelines, risks, and deliverables, as well as working closely with suppliers for raw material and technology evaluation are part of your responsibilities. You will also support product launches and post-launch performance improvement activities. Key Responsibilities: - Define tyre product development roadmap based on market trends and customer requirements - Drive tyre design, material selection, and product performance enhancement initiatives - Coordinate prototype development, simulation, and physical testing activities - Ensure compliance with BIS, ECE, DOT, and other applicable standards - Collaborate with QA and Homologation teams for certifications and renewals - Lead cross-functional projects and manage timelines, risks, and deliverables - Work closely with suppliers for raw material and technology evaluation - Support product launches and post-launch performance improvement activities Qualification Required: - Bachelors/Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, Polymer Science, Automotive Engineering, or related field - 10+ years of experience in tyre design and development - Strong understanding of tyre construction, tread patterns, cavity influence, and performance testing - Exposure to CAD tools, simulation software, and project management tools - Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills Additional Details: The role will be based in Mumbai and requires flexibility to travel to markets, manufacturing plants, and testing grounds as necessary.
