About the role
Job Overview
Uvation is looking for a Technical Team Lead (Full-Stack) to own the architecture and delivery of our marketplace and portal systems. This is a hybrid position based in India. You will lead a team of skilled software engineers, drive technical excellence, and work closely with product and business stakeholders to translate roadmaps into high-quality, scalable software. This is a hands-on leadership role — you will be both a technical authority and a people manager responsible for the growth and performance of your team.
Key Responsibilities
Own architecture decisions for marketplace and portal systems, including build/buy/scale tradeoffs.
Lead design reviews, code reviews, and drive best-practice adoption across the engineering team.
Ensure reliability, security, and performance SLAs are defined, met, and continuously improved.
Mentor engineers, set delivery standards, and support career development within the team.
Manage sprint planning, estimation, and delivery cadence in collaboration with product stakeholders.
Coordinate with product managers, designers, and business stakeholders on technical feasibility and scope.
Lead incident response, root-cause analysis, and drive a culture of continuous improvement.
Contribute to hiring decisions and participate in technical interviews.
Tech Stack
Required:
Strong full-stack experience: backend (Python/Django) and frontend (React/Node.js)
System design and API design — microservices and monolith architectures
Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP (compute, storage, networking)
DevOps: Docker, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
Observability: logging, metrics, and tracing (ELK stack, Prometheus, Grafana)
Security fundamentals: OAuth2/JWT, RBAC, OWASP, secrets management
Nice to have:
Experience with e-commerce platforms (Magento or similar)
Familiarity with GraphQL, Redis, or message queue systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
Experience working in a SaaS or marketplace product environment
Experience
7+ years of experience in software development, with at least 3 years in a technical lead or engineering management role.
Demonstrated track record of leading full-stack teams from design through production delivery.
Experience managing engineers directly, including performance conversations and career development.
Soft Skills
Strong leadership and the ability to build team culture and accountability.
Clear, confident communicator — comfortable with both engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
Structured problem-solver who can break down ambiguous requirements into actionable plans.
Highly organized with strong project management and prioritization skills.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred. Equivalent practical experience is also considered.
