Job Title: Process Engineer
Location: Chaska, MN Employment Type: Contract
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Process Engineer to support the development and characterization of semiconductor manufacturing processes in an R&D and production fab/lab environment. This role will focus on advanced semiconductor applications, particularly involving chemical/gas processes and physical vapor deposition (PVD) or etch technologies used in logic device fabrication.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and optimize semiconductor processes using chemical and gas-based techniques.
Focus on process areas such as Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) , etch technologies , and thin film applications .
Perform process characterization and data analysis to evaluate performance and stability.
Utilize surface analysis and metrology tools to evaluate thin films and materials.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D and manufacturing teams.
Prepare technical documentation and present findings to internal stakeholders.
Travel occasionally (< 25%) to support global development and training activities.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Materials Science & Engineering , Chemical Engineering , Chemistry , Physics , Electrical Engineering , or a related discipline.
2+ years of hands-on semiconductor process experience , preferably in:
Vacuum systems
Plasma processes
Photolithography
High-energy ion-beam technologies
Strong background in process development , characterization , and data interpretation .
Proficiency in surface analysis and thin film metrology techniques .
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work both independently and in team-based environments.
