About the role
Job Title: Senior Supplier Engineer Location: Sunnyvale, CA – 100% Onsite Duration: 12+ Months Contract Citizenship Requirement: US Citizen or Green Card only No Visa candidates. No OPT, CPT, H1B, or EADs accepted.

Job Overview:
The Senior Supplier Engineer is responsible for ensuring supplier compliance with cost, quality, delivery, and service standards. This role focuses on supplier development, process validation, DFM, PPQP, audits, and continuous improvement within a regulated manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead supplier evaluations and selection for existing or new commodities
Conduct on-site supplier assessments and QMS audits
Drive PPQP deliverables including spFMEA, MSA, capacity analysis, FAIR, and validations
Provide DFM feedback to Engineering during early design phases
Monitor and improve supplier performance (cost, quality, delivery, capacity)
Resolve supply continuity and quality issues through RCA, SCAR, SCR
Develop supplier readiness plans based on forecast and capacity
Drive specification changes, support ECO process
Own supplier scorecards, QBRs, and communications
Identify and lead cost reduction or quality improvement initiatives
Implement and sustain Lean, Six Sigma, SPC practices at supplier sites
Travel to suppliers as needed (domestic and international)
Required Skills & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Master’s preferred)
21 CFR Part 820 and ISO 13485 knowledge; experience auditing suppliers
Strong PFMEA, PPQP, and validation experience
Ability to read mechanical drawings and suggest design improvements
Excellent communication and project management skills
Prior implementation of Lean/Six Sigma/SPC at supplier sites
ERP experience (SAP preferred), Microsoft Office proficiency
CAD/3D modeling experience is a plus
Medical device industry background preferred
Certified Lead Auditor is a plus
Must be local or willing to relocate to Sunnyvale, CA
