About the role
Position: SME Lead Automation Engineer (Emerson DeltaV DCS) Location: Charlotte, NC (Hybrid) Duration: 12+ Months Citizenship Requirement: US Citizen, Green Card, or TN Visa holders only (No H1B or OPT)
Overview: We are seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) Lead Automation Engineer with extensive hands-on experience in Emerson DeltaV DCS systems for a long-term project in the pharmaceutical manufacturing space. This role will support automation efforts across production and utility systems, ensuring GMP compliance and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and support automation initiatives for Emerson DeltaV DCS platforms
Design, configure, and troubleshoot DeltaV control systems for pharmaceutical processes
Support and optimize batch processes in accordance with ISA-88 (S88) standards
Collaborate across QA, Manufacturing, and Engineering departments
Perform root cause analysis and support continuous improvement in a 24/7 production environment
Author and configure recipes using DeltaV batch tools
Ensure strict compliance with GMP documentation and validation standards
Requirements

Extensive hands-on experience with Emerson DeltaV DCS

Strong knowledge of CIP systems and pharmaceutical utilities (e.g., WFI, HVAC, clean steam)

Proficiency in batch systems and ISA-88 (S88) methodology

Experience with recipe configuration and authoring tools

Demonstrated success in supporting 24/7 production environments

Solid understanding of GMP compliance , validation, and documentation

Excellent troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills

Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration capabilities
Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years of automation experience, including 5+ years specifically with DeltaV in pharma or biotech manufacturing environments
