About the role
Position : Senior Electrical Engineer (Electro-Mechanical Medical Device)
Location : 400 College Road East, Princeton, NJ Duration : 1-Year Contract
Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with deep expertise in the R&D of electro-mechanical medical devices. This role requires strong knowledge of full-system design, analog/digital circuit design, prototyping, and the ability to lead cross-functional efforts from feasibility to fabrication in a regulated environment.
Core Responsibilities
Lead and contribute to the design, prototyping, and manufacturing of complex instrument subassemblies and systems.
Design and analyze mixed-signal analog/digital circuits , including amplifier and level shifter designs.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams for system integration and testing.
Ensure adherence to FDA regulations and maintain documentation in compliance with quality systems.
Utilize PCB CAD and simulation tools (e.g., ORCAD, PADS, PSpice, Siemens Tanner Tools) for design and layout tasks.
Prepare full-chip designs and execute verification (DRC/LVS) and GDSII generation for fabrication.
Participate in first silicon evaluation and hands-on bench testing.
Apply advanced engineering principles and problem-solving in a highly regulated medical device environment.
Expected Technical Expertise
Analog Design : Amplifier, Level Shifter, Bandgap, Instrumentation Amplifier
Digital Design : Full IC system design with noise mitigation, kelvin wiring, guard banding
IC Design : I/O ESD cell design, parasitic extraction, full-chip tapeout
Tools : ORCAD, PSpice, Mentor Graphics PADS, Siemens Tanner Tools, Calibre
Processes : Familiarity with X-FAB XH035 (350nm) and XH018 (180nm) processes
Testing : Experience with general lab test equipment, first silicon evaluation
Requirements

Education : Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field

Experience : 10+ years of progressive work experience in electrical or IC design, preferably in medical device or highly regulated industries

Knowledge of IVD medical device standards and directives is a plus
