Wireless Network Engineer

Job Title: Wireless Network Engineer Location: Onsite – Palo Alto, CA (Daily Presence Required) Duration: Full-Time | Occasional weekend/holiday support Travel: Minimal (within Bay Area)

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Wireless Network Engineer with deep expertise in campus wireless environments. You will provide technical leadership in wireless solution design, deployment, operations, and support. This position involves close collaboration with Network Architects and cross-functional teams to ensure robust wireless performance and compliance with regulatory and security standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Partner with Network Architects to support wireless initiatives and design implementations.

Provide day-to-day operational support and Tier-2/3 escalation for global wireless infrastructure.

Proactively monitor and analyze wireless metrics using advanced tools.

Lead implementation efforts for new wireless services and technologies.

Ensure compliance with wireless regulations, policies, and security frameworks.

Create and maintain documentation, including Run-Books and technical procedures.

Utilize monitoring and analysis tools such as Ekahau, Spectrum Analyzers, and Protocol Analyzers.

Occasionally work after hours/weekends/holidays for deployments or critical support.

Physically lift up to 50 pounds as needed for hardware installation or relocation.

Required Qualifications:

Proven experience with IEEE 802.11 standards , RF engineering, wireless encryption protocols, WIDS, rogue detection, 802.1x, RADIUS, EAP-TLS.

Hands-on expertise in wireless technologies from multiple vendors , including:

Aruba (Controller, AOS8, IAP, ClearPass, AirWave)

Mist , Meraki , Splunk

Strong knowledge of TCP/IP protocol stack .

Proficiency in wireless tools : Spectrum Analyzers, Protocol Analyzers, Ekahau Site Survey.

Experience in wireless voice/video application support.

Scripting knowledge for automating deployments and collecting metrics.

Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
