As an Application Engineering Technical Lead II at Vanguard, you will play a crucial role in providing expert-level IT technical lead services focused on integration and implementation of technologies. Your responsibilities will include: - Providing expert-level technical leadership for critical software, middleware, or hardware projects across multiple platforms. This involves ensuring successful architecture, development, and implementation, evaluating development options, overseeing comprehensive testing, and approving technical deliverables. - Approving technical solutions proposed by team members, resolving complex technical problems, and anticipating issues to enable preventive action. - Acting as a key technical liaison with stakeholders, effectively communicating technical implications, project risks, and solution strategies. - Maintaining expertise in IT methodologies, architecture design, and enterprise standards. You will mentor staff and ensure team adoption of evolving standards. - Reviewing, authoring, and approving technical documentation and architecture diagrams. - Driving continuous improvement in technical standards, methodologies, and the adoption of emerging technologies. - Participating in product life cycle reviews (design, code, test), and serving as a technical advisor across project meetings. - Ensuring compliance with IT and Information Security policies and validating that deliverables meet internal and external requirements. - Leading or contributing to special projects and cross-functional initiatives as assigned. - Applying deep server-side development skills with a focus on performance optimization, secure architecture, and database efficiency. - Troubleshooting complex system performance issues and recommending improvements to optimize data flow across services and APIs. - Ensuring scalable and resilient backend functionality with proactive measures for increased system demands. Qualifications and Skills required for this role include: - Minimum 8 years of experience in software development, architecture, and system integration. - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Computer Applications, or Master's in Computer Applications. - Expert level programming skills in Java, SpringBoot, Python. - Expert level understanding of AWS Services, GitHub, Bitbucket, CI/CD, API security, and more. - Expertise in software architecture, event-driven architectures, system design, and technical leadership for enterprise applications. - Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues, conduct root cause analysis, and optimize system performance. - Well versed in Observability concepts and tools, TDD/BDD, and Test Automation Skills. - Experience in mentoring teams, establishing technical standards, and driving continuous process improvement. - Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. - Hands-on experience with Agile, Confluence, JIRA, and monitoring and refining dashboards. - Desired Certifications: AWS Solutions Architect/AWS Solution Consultant.
