About the role
Role Summary This role provides intermediate level technical support designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud security platforms and infrastructure data center networks. Identifies, resolves, or escalates hardware or software issues. The engineer also mentors junior staff, contributes to best practices and supports ongoing improvements in cloud security posture. Responsibilities Designs, implements, and deploys security cloud platforms to support and mitigate security threats, risks and technology vulnerabilities. Identifies and recommends opportunities for improvement and performance issue solutions. Provides advanced level technical support and monitors security technologies efficiency through the use of monitoring tools and applications. Maintains comprehensive technical knowledge of cloud software and infrastructure platforms. Develops auditing methodologies and architecture to manage and protect data in cloud computing environments. Elevates code into the development, test, and cloud production environments on schedule. Provides follow up production support. Submits change control requests and documents. Learns and understands client area business functions and requirements. Determines the appropriate technical tool to address the client's business needs. Trains and mentors more junior staff on processes and releases. Troubleshoots and resolves complex issues elevated from staff. Provides guidance and consultation as required. Updates, writes, and maintains documentation for the department. Administers system activities. Writes the technical portion of assigned deliverables. Performs systems analysis, including system requirements analysis and definition, and logical design. Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned. Safeguard organizational infrastructure and sensitive data by preventing IT-related crimes, unauthorized access, and cyber threats through secure design of operating systems, networks, and databases. Continuously monitor system access logs to detect anomalies or potential breaches, and lead implementation of backup and disaster recovery measures to ensure business continuity and data protection. Qualifications and Skills Minimum 5 years of experience in cloud security, cybersecurity, or IT security, with hands-on expertise in securing AWS and Azure environments. B.Tech/M.Tech in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field. Building cloud-native applications and scripting build/deployment actions. You must be proficient in at least one programming language. Leveraging AWS utilizing Fargate, ECS, EC2, S3, CloudWatch, and CloudFormation. Utilizing Docker, as well as Linux/Unix knowledge. Github Actions, how they are written and how they are used. REST-based architecture - SDLC, best practices, and testing API design standards and principles, best practices, and specifications like OpenAPI and JWT AWS - IAM, Route53, ALB, SCP, NLB, WAF, and Secrets Manager. Kong Gateway experience - this is a huge plus! A track record for building tooling leveraged by other teams that excite them. We aim to solve common problems at an enterprise scale. Knowledge of other cloud providers like Azure or GCP. Location This role is based in Hyderabad, Telangana at Vanguard's India office. Only qualified external applicants will be considered.
