About The Job: Apigee Engineer Essential Job Functions: Develop, design, and onboard RESTful, gRPC, and SOAP-based API proxies on the Apigee platform. Implement Traffic Management policies such as Spike Arrest, Quota, and Caching to ensure backend stability. Design and implement Mediation policies including JSON to XML, XSLT, and JavaScript for request and response transformations. Build and maintain Shared Flows to standardize common logic such as error handling, logging, and security headers. Utilize Flow Hooks to enforce global policies across environments. Configure and manage Key Value Maps (KVMs) for secure storage of environment-specific configurations and credentials. Implement OAuth 2.0, JWT validation, and API Key verification for API security. Configure infrastructure-level security including Mutual TLS (mTLS) between Apigee and target servers. Manage Target Servers, Keystores, and Truststores for secure backend connectivity. Generate custom reports and dashboards using Apigee Analytics to monitor API performance, latency, and error trends. Use the Apigee Debug (Trace) tool to troubleshoot runtime issues and optimize proxy performance. Integrate API proxy deployments into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Maven, or Grunt. Manage configurations across Dev, Test, and Production environments using automated scripts. Design, build, and deploy integration workflows using Google Cloud Application Integration. Connect enterprise applications such as Salesforce, SAP, and databases using standard and custom Integration Connectors. Implement data mapping, conditional branching, and parallel execution within integration workflows. Integrate Apigee proxies with Application Integration using the Integration Callout policy for API-led Qualifications: Hands-on experience with Apigee X, Apigee Hybrid, Application Integration, or Apigee Edge. Strong understanding of REST, JSON, XML, OpenAPI Specification (Swagger), Integration Workflow, and integration design patterns including pub/sub, synchronous/asynchronous, and event-driven architecture. Proficiency in TLS, Mutual TLS (mTLS), OAuth 2.0, SAML, and JWT. Strong JavaScript or Java programming skills for custom policy extensions. Experience with Apigeelint, Postman, Git, Apickli, and Cloud Logging for testing and logging.
