Job Type: Full time, Permanent Experience Required: 5 to 6 years Job Summary We are hiring experienced QA Engineers for our Pune office. This is a full-time, work-from-office position, and candidates must be available to attend the office daily. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in manual testing, API testing, database validation, integration testing, and test automation. The candidate should be capable of independently understanding complex business workflows, defining test strategies, identifying risks, and ensuring the quality of SaaS or B2B web applications. The role requires close collaboration with developers, product managers, business analysts, and other QA team members throughout the software development lifecycle. Key Responsibilities - Analyze product requirements, business workflows, functional specifications, and acceptance criteria. - Identify requirement gaps, ambiguities, dependencies, and potential quality risks. - Prepare comprehensive test strategies, test plans, test scenarios, test cases, and test data. - Perform functional, regression, integration, system, end-to-end, exploratory, and API testing. - Validate complex workflows involving multiple modules, APIs, databases, and third-party integrations. - Test REST APIs using Postman or similar tools. - Validate API request methods, headers, authentication, payloads, status codes, response structures, business rules, and error handling. - Perform backend and database validation using MySQL or Oracle queries. - Write SQL queries involving joins, subqueries, filters, aggregations, and data comparison. - Review application logs, API responses, and database records to support troubleshooting and root cause analysis. - Create clear defect reports with reproducible steps, expected and actual results, supporting evidence, logs, screenshots, and severity assessment. - Work closely with developers to reproduce, investigate, and resolve defects. - Validate defect fixes and determine the required regression-testing scope. - Maintain regression suites and ensure adequate test coverage for new and existing functionality. - Estimate QA efforts and communicate testing dependencies, risks, blockers, and release readiness. - Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and release discussions. - Contribute to release sign-off and provide evidence-based quality recommendations. - Design, maintain, and execute automation test scripts for stable and repetitive workflows. - Review test cases and testing output prepared by junior QA team members. - Mentor junior testers and support improvements in QA processes, documentation, and testing standards. - Coordinate testing activities across development, QA, product, and business teams. - Use Git for basic version control of automation scripts and QA-related assets. - Maintain test documentation, requirement traceability, defect reports, and test execution results. Required Skills Manual and Functional Testing - Strong experience in manual testing of web-based applications. - Strong understanding of test planning, test design techniques, and risk-based testing. - Experience in functional, regression, integration, system, exploratory, and end-to-end testing. - Ability to test complex business rules, dependencies, workflows, and role-based functionality. - Experience preparing test estimates, test coverage reports, and release-readiness reports. - Strong defect identification, documentation, prioritization, and tracking skills. API Testing - Strong hands-on experience testing REST APIs using Postman or similar tools. - Good understanding of HTTP methods, headers, authentication, status codes, JSON payloads, and response validation. - Ability to test positive, negative, boundary, authorization, and error-handling scenarios. - Experience testing workflows involving multiple dependent APIs. - Ability to create and maintain Postman collections, environments, variables, and basic test scripts. - Experience validating API results against application data and database records. Database Testing - Hands-on experience with MySQL or Oracle. - Ability to write SQL queries using joins, subqueries, filters, grouping, sorting, and aggregate functions. - Experience validating inserts, updates, deletions, mappings, calculations, and data consistency. - Ability to compare data across the user interface, APIs, and database. - Understanding of primary keys, foreign keys, relationships, constraints, and transactional data. Automation Testing - Practical experience with Selenium or a similar web automation framework. - Basic to intermediate scripting or programming knowledge. - Ability to create, execute, debug, and maintain automation test scripts. - Understanding of page objects, reusable methods, test data management, assertions, and reporting. - Ability to identify suitable test cases for automation. - Exposure to API automation or .
