About the role
As an experienced professional with 5 years of relevant experience, your role will involve the following key responsibilities: - Architect, deploy, and manage Kubernetes clusters (EKS) in production environments. - Design scalable, secure, and high-availability solutions on AWS Cloud. - Implement and manage Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform. - Troubleshoot and optimize Kubernetes workloads, networking, storage, and security policies. - Automate CI/CD pipelines for Kubernetes-based deployments. - Implement an observability stack (monitoring, logging, tracing) for Kubernetes clusters. - Ensure cluster security, governance, and compliance best practices. - Mentor and guide junior engineers on Kubernetes, AWS, and Terraform best practices. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams (DevOps, Cloud Ops, Security, Development) to deliver cloud-native solutions. Your required skills and expertise should include proficiency in the following areas: Kubernetes: - Deep knowledge of Kubernetes architecture, API, controllers, operators, and CRDs. - Expertise in EKS cluster lifecycle management. - Proficiency in configuring Ingress, Load Balancers, PV/PVC, StatefulSets, DaemonSets, Deployments. - Strong hands-on experience with Helm, Kustomize, and GitOps tools. - Experience in Kubernetes cluster scaling, multi-AZ deployments, and high availability. - Knowledge of Kubernetes networking including CNI, CoreDNS, and service mesh like Istio/Linkerd. - Hands-on experience with RBAC, Pod Security Standards, Network Policies, and Secrets Management. AWS Cloud: - Strong expertise with EKS, VPC, EC2, IAM, RDS, S3, CloudWatch, ALB/NLB, Route53. - Experience with AWS-native DevOps and Security services. - Hands-on experience with cluster upgrades, patching, and backup strategies. Terraform (IaC): - Strong proficiency in writing Terraform modules for AWS and Kubernetes. - Managing state files, workspaces, and versioning. - Experience with Terragrunt is a plus. Certifications (Preferred): - CKA (Certified Kubernetes Administrator) Mandatory. - AWS Certified Solutions Architect / DevOps Engineer Preferred. Additionally, nice-to-have skills include experience with Istio service mesh, security scanning tools, familiarity with container runtimes like containerd, hands-on experience with multi-cloud Kubernetes platforms (GKE, AKS), and knowledge of FinOps / Cloud cost optimization in Kubernetes environments. In terms of education, a Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required.
