About the role
We also know that innovation and ingenuity start with prioritizing a diverse workforce and a deeply inclusive workplace. We encourage people from all backgrounds to apply to our positions. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, Senior AI Engineer Specialist to lead the design, development, and deployment of cutting-edge AI solutions that leverage large language models (LLMs), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and agentic AI architectures. This is a hands-on leadership role for a builder and systems thinker who can push generative AI from experimentation into scalable, production-ready capabilities. This role is in Bangalore, India (Quarterly once visit to the office for 2 weeks) . In this role, a typical day would include: Architectural Leadership: Design scalable, resilient AI architectures that support multi-tenant, global packaging solutions. Define the blueprint for how Esko handles agentic reasoning and distributed memory. Core Infrastructure & LLMOps: Lead the development of internal platforms for model lifecycle management, including automated retraining loops, deployment strategies (Canary/Blue-Green), and cost-attribution systems. Advanced R&D: Conduct feasibility studies on emerging tech (e.g., State Space Models, small language model distillation, or custom embedding architectures) to keep Esko ahead of the competition. Evaluation Strategy: Establish organization-wide standards for Model Governance and Red-Teaming. Build the framework that measures the "ROI of Accuracy" for every feature we ship. Technical Mentorship: Act as a force multiplier by mentoring Senior AI Engineers, conducting deep-dive code reviews, and fostering a culture of rigorous scientific experimentation. Cross-Functional Influence: Partner with executive leadership and Product VPs to translate business vision into a technical AI roadmap. Required Skills & Qualifications Education: Master s or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field (or equivalent deep industry experience). Experience: 10+ years in Software Engineering, with 5+ years in AI/ML leadership. You have successfully taken multiple LLM-based products from "Alpha" to "Enterprise Scale." Expertise in Training & Alignment: Deep experience with Full-Parameter Fine-Tuning and Alignment Techniques (DPO, PPO, or KTO). Experience generating and filtering high-quality Synthetic Data for domain-specific model training. Systems Engineering: Expertise in high-throughput inference (vLLM, TensorRT-LLM) and low-latency vector retrieval at the scale of billions of vectors. Strong understanding of distributed computing (Ray, Kubernetes, or Spark). Strategic Benchmarking: Ability to design domain-specific evaluation moats that go beyond public benchmarks to measure real-world packaging design utility. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Vision-Language Models (VLM) for analysing packaging graphics or 3D structural data. Knowledge of deploying distilled models to edge devices or client-side environments. A known contributor to the AI ecosystem (e.g., maintainer of a popular library or published research). Experience with serving frameworks like vLLM, NVIDIA Triton, or TGI (Text Generation Inference). Disclaimer: This job posting has been aggregated from external source.
