Sr Software Apps Engineer

As a Sr. Professional in Finance Systems, you will lead the evolution of our Corporate Applications environment, with a heavy focus on Oracle Financials. This is not just a maintenance role; you will be an architect of efficiency, using modern AI tools to oversee complex financial workflows, automate repetitive tasks, and ensure our systems are as agile as our business. You will work independently on complex challenges, influencing stakeholders across Finance, Engineering, and Security to deliver high-impact technology solutions. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with Finance business process owners and relevant Finance stakeholders to interpret business requirements into technology solutions pertaining to Billing, Revenue, and Payment Applications. Support and optimize the Core Finance platform, encompassing Billing, Revenue, and Accounting applications. Conduct requirement gathering, design, development, implementation, and support to fulfill the Businesss needs. Define and meet Service Level Agreements with relevant stakeholders. Partner with operations, security, and infrastructure teams to ensure compliance with Yahoo standards. Analyze and design both short and long-term solutions for Yahoo Billing, Revenue, and Finance systems. Plan and execute various test cycles, including integration testing and system testing. Deliver product demonstrations to Business stakeholders and facilitate User acceptance testing. Plan, coordinate, and facilitate workshops to guide discussions and decisions for developing business applications. Provide Production support for month-end close activities. Collaborate with other cross-functional product teams and Engineering teams to translate the business solution into technical designs. Leverage AI/ML and Generative AI to enhance Finance processes and drive operational efficiency. Support adoption of AI-driven solutions across enterprise systems to enable smarter decision-making and automation. Overall Position Scope and Accountability: Requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline, and basic knowledge of related job disciplines. Operates autonomously with minimal supervision and guidance. May oversee small project teams or manage phases/work streams within larger projects. Influences various customer, operational, project, or service activities within own team and related work teams Creates solutions for a range of moderately complex or uncommon challenges within designated domain Utilizes independent judgement to devise solutions or offer recommendations after analyzing various factors or information sources Shows capability to approach existing solutions from a fresh perspective Challenges: Working in a matrixed Virtual environment Working with a number of Stakeholders internally internationally within the Organization Working on multiple projects/tasks at one time Working as part of a global team and think globally Some out of hours working to support the Global Organisation Minimum Job Qualifications: 10+ years of IT experience specializing in finance systems analysis, solution design, and deployment using Oracle Financials (EBS) and Oracle Fusion Cloud, with hands-on expertise across modules including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Cash Management, EBTax, SLA, and SCM (iProcurement, Purchasing, Inventory). Proven track record in projects implementation, rollouts, and upgrades within Oracle Financials. Proficiency in Agile and Waterfall management methodologies for project management. Strong consulting background with the ability to influence stakeholders in both business and IT. Demonstrated project management skills with excellent planning and organizational abilities. Technical proficiency in SQL and SQL Developer for basic troubleshooting. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English. Experience collaborating with large, globally distributed teams across various time zones. Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities and a passion for learning new skills. Ability to convey complex ideas in simple, user-friendly language to both end-users and senior management. Capacity to make independent judgments in prioritizing tasks and initiatives, while keeping management informed of progress and resolutions. Responsive to customer needs and driven to enhance organizational processes. Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills, capable of establishing credibility at all organizational levels. Preferred qualifications include a CA/MBA in Finance or a bachelors or masters degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience as a business analyst supporting business users. Develop and manage documentation related to the creation of desktop manuals, test scenarios, test conditions, and test scripts. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. Chartered Accountant (CA) or MBA in Finance. Experience with AI Prompt Engineering for technical documentation and structured interaction with LLMs. Experience working in a global, matrixed environment across multiple time zones. Interest in or experience with predictive analytics models for financial forecasting.
