Software Developer - DevOps & Tools Requisition ID: 74562 Location(s): Chennai, TN, IN, 600 117 Work experience: Professional Type of position: Full-Time Job Family: Engineering Vestas Technology & Operations > Research & Development (R&D) > Converter Control Quality & LCM The Converter Control Quality & LCM department plays a key role in maintaining Vestas' leadership in sustainable energy. Our team develops, maintains, and ensures the quality of converter control functionalities for all Vestas turbine families, while ensuring full compliance with global grid code requirements. Within the DevOps & Tools team, we design and deliver specialized tools that support converter control development, enable efficient testing, assist field technicians, improve remote turbine access and data handling, streamline software merging processes, and address other converter control software challenges. Our department has a reputation for highly skilled professionals who consistently balance innovation with high-quality standards. Leveraging our deep domain knowledge, we provide robust, reliable, and high-performance converter solutions that meet system, product, and grid requirements. Responsibilities Write high-quality and testable code for new and legacy C# and Python codebases to implement fixes or add new features Maintain and extend functionalities in CI/CD pipelines in Jenkins and GitHub Actions Translate business and technical requirements into architectural solutions and development guidelines Expand the current tool portfolio towards data-centric workflows Maintain and update technical documentation to support software development, as well as user guides Collaborate effectively in a globally distributed team environment Qualifications Bachelor's or master's degree in software engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, electronics or a related technical field 3 years of professional experience as a software engineer C# and Python knowledge Ability and motivation to understand complex technical domains and system behaviors Practical experience implementing and working within CI/CD pipelines or a DevOps environment Proficiency with industry tools such as Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions Fluency in English (written and spoken) Competencies Experience working with remote, multi-location teams Effective communication and interpersonal skills Possesses a global mindset with deep cultural understanding Embodies the Vestas values: passion, accountability, collaboration, and simplicity Applies a systems engineering approach to problem-solving and decision-making Results-oriented, receptive to different perspectives, and thrives in an international, multicultural environment What We Offer We offer you a job in a truly global and active organization with rewarding opportunities for cross-disciplinary and personal development, where emphasis is placed on the right balance between creativity and quality in all solutions.
