About the role
Description : Experience : Minimum 8+ years overall (3+ years Linux platform, 5+ years ServiceNow administration) Job Summary : We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineer - ServiceNow Administrator with strong Linux expertise to manage, and support a self-hosted ServiceNow environment. The role focuses on platform administration, upgrades, database management, performance tuning, and basic ServiceNow configuration. Key Responsibilities : - Install and configure ServiceNow on Linux VMs using deployment guides - Administer self-hosted ServiceNow instances including upgrades and cloning using documentation - Manage Linux servers, services, and OS-level tuning - Install, configure, and manage MariaDB and PostgreSQL databases - Perform regular database backups and restores - Fine-tune ServiceNow performance per best practices - Work with OCI cloud infrastructure, load balancers, WAFs, and SSL certificates - Support DR, failover, and failback processes - Experience in production support - Knowledge of Incident management to handle production incidents and general ITSM process knowledge - Perform ServiceNow admin tasks : users, groups, reports, catalogs, forms, update sets - Familiar with core integrations like SSO, AD and Email and deep understanding of API based integration - Plan, deploy, and optimize ServiceNow Discovery : schedules, credentials, probes/sensors, patterns; triage Discovery errors and data quality issues. - Configure, and enhance Incident, Change, Problem, Request processesassignment models, SLAs/OLAs, escalations, notifications, approvals, CAB workflows, and risk assessment. - Build/maintain process logic via business rules, client scripts, UI policies, Flow Designer/workflows; enforce best practices and instance hygiene (update sets, naming, cloning). - Working and hands on experience on Discovery - Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, especially in production environments - Ability to document processes, configurations, and discovery designs - Good communication skills to work with process owners, platform teams, and stakeholders - Willingness to support oncall and operational support activities when required Required Skills : - Strong Linux administration experience - Hands-on ServiceNow administration experience - Experience with MariaDB and PostgreSQL - Knowledge of OCI cloud and security concepts Preferred Skills : - ServiceNow certifications - Experience with enterprise production environments - Basic scripting knowledge - Linux and DB administration background Description : Experience : Minimum 8+ years overall (3+ years Linux platform, 5+ years ServiceNow administration) Job Summary : We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineer - ServiceNow Administrator with strong Linux expertise to manage, and support a self-hosted ServiceNow environment.
