About the role
As an API Tester-Automation, your role involves designing and executing API test cases for functional, regression, and integration testing across payment systems. You will be responsible for: - Performing API validation using tools such as Postman, RestAssured, or similar platforms. - Validating request/response structures, payloads, authentication (OAuth, JWT), and error handling. - Supporting end-to-end testing of microservices and API integrations across multiple systems. - Providing L1/L2 support for API-related issues including log analysis, defect triaging, and coordination with development teams. - Executing API automation suites and contributing to CI/CD pipeline integration for automated testing. - Monitoring API performance and assisting in identifying bottlenecks, latency, and failure points. - Supporting release cycles through testing, defect validation, and deployment verification. - Maintaining API documentation, test artifacts, and reports using tools like Swagger, Confluence, or SharePoint. - Applying basic AI-driven testing approaches such as test case generation, anomaly detection, and productivity improvements. Qualifications required for this role include: - Strong communication skills with proficiency in English (verbal and written) for documentation and stakeholder coordination. - Hands-on experience in API testing using REST/SOAP services. - Good understanding of API protocols, JSON/XML formats, and HTTP methods (GET, POST, PUT, DELETE). - Experience with API testing tools such as Postman, SoapUI, RestAssured, or similar. - Basic programming knowledge in Java (preferred for automation frameworks). - Strong SQL skills for backend validation and data verification. - Understanding of authentication mechanisms (OAuth 2.0, JWT, Basic Auth). - Working knowledge of Linux/Unix and Windows environments for log analysis and test execution. - Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Git, etc.) and version control systems. - Exposure to microservices architecture and API gateways. - Foundational understanding of SDLC, STLC, and agile methodologies. - Exposure to AI-based testing or prompt engineering is an added advantage. - Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent. Please note that the primary location for this role is IN-AP-Hyderabad, and it is a full-time position for an individual contributor with no travel requirement.
