About the role
As a Network Automation Developer/Engineer (TVC) at STAR, you will play a crucial role in automating complex network operations to enhance the reliability and efficiency of our infrastructure and services. This position is suitable for an engineer with a strong background in Python and Ansible, along with a deep understanding of core networking principles. Responsibilities: - Automation Development and Integration: You will write, deploy, and maintain software using Python within specified automation frameworks (such as Ansible) to automate the complete network device lifecycle. This involves integrating with network infrastructure for standardized configuration management, continuous auditing, data collection, and developing tools for automated incident response. - Integration and Test: Independently integrate with lab and production environments to test new and existing automation scripts, playbooks, and modules, ensuring reliability, scalability, and adherence to production standards. - Technical Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation covering deployed automation solutions, development methods, integration points, and operational procedures. - STAR Project Support: Provide direct support for STAR projects by addressing work tickets and offering expert assistance for the Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) setup. Required Qualifications and Skills: - Ansible Development: You should have 3+ years of expertise in Ansible development, including hands-on experience with Ansible Core, Ansible AWX, or RedHat Ansible Automation Platform (AAP). - Python Experience: A minimum of 1+ years of production environment experience focused on Python development. - Networking Expertise: Solid familiarity with fundamental networking concepts, including Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols, and various routing protocols. - Mission Critical Network Management Experience: Demonstrated hands-on experience in managing and configuring complex network routers and switches from major vendors.
