About the role
We are hiring a Product Manager on behalf of VIT, Vellore for a high-impact consultancy project. Person will be responsible for leading a cross-functional team to drive product development and integration efforts from concept to delivery. A Product Manager for Hardware and Software integration with AI tools, Design understanding, and International Brand Market expertise requires a unique blend of skills. Here are some key ones: Technical Skills 1. Hardware development: Understanding of electronics, mechanical engineering, and manufacturing processes. 2. Software development: Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, C++, Java), software development methodologies (e.g., Agile), and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure). 3. AI and Machine Learning: Familiarity with AI frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch), machine learning algorithms, and data analytics. 4. Integration and IoT: Understanding of communication protocols (e.g., Bluetooth, Wi-Fi), device integration, and IoT architectures. Business and Market Skills 1. International market understanding: Knowledge of global markets, trends, and regulations. 2. Brand management: Experience with brand development, positioning, and maintenance. 3. Market research and analysis: Ability to conduct market research, analyze customer needs, and identify market opportunities. 4. Business strategy and planning: Understanding of business models, revenue streams, and cost structures. Soft Skills 1. Leadership and collaboration: Ability to lead cross-functional teams, collaborate with stakeholders, and manage conflicts. 2. Communication and presentation: Effective communication and presentation skills to articulate product vision, strategy, and plans. 3. Project management: Experience with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall), tools (e.g., Jira, Asana), and techniques. 4. Adaptability and continuous learning: Willingness to learn new technologies, adapt to changing market conditions, and iterate on product designs. Design Understanding 1. User experience (UX) design: Familiarity with UX design principles, human-centered design, and user research methods. 2. Industrial design: Understanding of industrial design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes. 3. Design thinking: Ability to apply design thinking methodologies to product development. Education and Experience 1. Bachelors or Masters degree: In a relevant field such as Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Design. 2. Minimum 3-4 years of experience: In product management, product development, or a related field, with a focus on hardware and software integration, AI, and design.
