As the Head of Testing at VML Enterprise Solutions, your role involves leading and managing the entire testing function to ensure the delivery of high-quality software products. You will collaborate closely with development teams, product managers, and other stakeholders to define testing strategies, implement automation frameworks, and cultivate a culture of quality throughout the software development lifecycle. Your contributions directly impact the reliability and performance of solutions, ultimately enhancing customer satisfaction and business success. Key Responsibilities: - Build & Scale: - Recruit top-tier QA talent to build the India team and manage high-volume, high-pressure hiring cycles. - Establish a QA Automation hub to streamline testing processes. - Future-Proofing the Workforce: - Collaborate with Sales and Business Development teams to understand sales pipeline and emerging market trends. - Translate insights into training roadmaps to ensure the team is prepared for next-generation work. - Talent Development: - Contribute to global engineering career progression frameworks. - Coordinate training programs, onboard graduates, and coach team members for continuous learning. - Global Collaboration: - Act as the primary liaison for the India region within the global community of QA leaders. - Ensure alignment with global standards while addressing local operational needs. - Employee Wellbeing: - Manage team wellbeing by balancing high performance with a healthy work-life balance. - Proactively address signs of burnout and promote sustainable practices. - Strategic Quality Management: - Define and track quality metrics (DRE, Test Coverage, Cycle Time) for transparent reporting to executive stakeholders. - Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and DevOps leads to embed quality as a mindset throughout the development lifecycle. Required Skillset: - Extensive QA Leadership & Team Scaling: - Proven experience in Quality Assurance, leading and scaling QA teams. - Comprehensive Technical QA Expertise: - Proficiency in test automation frameworks (Java, Python, JavaScript) and various testing fundamentals. - Modern QA Tooling & CI/CD Mastery: - Experience with Playwright and modern CI/CD tools. - E-commerce/Retail Domain Expertise: - Understanding of complex buying journeys within E-commerce/Retail domains. - Strategic Business & Commercial Acumen: - Ability to analyze business trends and forecast skill requirements. - AI Transformation & Empowerment: - Experience with AI transformation activities and empowering teams with AI tools. - Adaptable, Resilient & Results-Oriented: - Comfortable with context switching, managing ambiguity, and meeting demanding targets. - Exceptional Communication & Stakeholder Management: - Capable of explaining technical quality risks to non-technical stakeholders. - High Emotional Intelligence & Relationship Building: - Fosters trust and strong relationships across boundaries. - Vibrant Team & Tech Community Builder: - Actively fosters a vibrant internal engineering culture and community within a distributed workforce.
