Founding Engineer – AI & Mobile

About the Company: Voluble India is a stealth AI-native consumer startup operating at the intersection of voice, learning, and careers. We are building an innovative product that aims to redefine user interaction and experience in the AI space. As our first engineering hire, you will have the unique opportunity to shape the technical direction and product from its inception, working directly with the founders to bring our vision to life. Responsibilities: Build the complete iOS and Android application using React Native/Expo. Design and develop the backend architecture and APIs. Build AI-powered voice and conversational experiences by integrating speech-to-text, large language models, and text-to-speech systems. Develop user onboarding, assessments, progress tracking, and personalized experiences. Create reliable prompt, evaluation, and feedback systems. Establish low-latency audio and real-time interaction pipelines. Set up databases, authentication, storage, and application security. Own cloud infrastructure, deployment, monitoring, and performance. Implement product analytics to understand user behavior. Continuously test, debug, and improve the application. Manage App Store and Play Store releases. Participate in key technical and product decisions directly with the founders. Help hire and lead the engineering team as the company grows. Requirements: 1–3 years of experience in software engineering. Exceptional fresh graduates are also encouraged to apply. Strong proficiency in coding with experience building and shipping real products. Strong understanding of both mobile and backend development. Hands-on experience with LLMs and AI APIs. Ability to independently convert ideas into working products. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to move quickly while maintaining high code quality. Curiosity about product, design, users, and business beyond technology. Comfortable working in an early-stage startup without a large team or corporate structure. Strong skills in React Native/Expo. Strong knowledge of TypeScript/JavaScript. Experience with Python/FastAPI. Experience building REST APIs and working with WebSockets. Familiarity with PostgreSQL or Supabase. Understanding of mobile authentication and application security. Experience with OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, or similar AI APIs. Knowledge of speech-to-text, text-to-speech, and conversational AI technologies. Familiarity with audio processing and real-time streaming. Experience with cloud deployment and CI/CD. Experience managing App Store and Play Store deployments. Knowledge of analytics, logging, and production monitoring. Ability and eagerness to learn new technologies as required by the product. Candidates from institutions such as IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Kanpur, IIT Madras, IIIT Hyderabad, and BITS Pilani will be preferred.
