This position is on site at Volvo CE’s largest Technology Center. Our test tracks and development grounds are just outside the door, making it easy to connect software development with real machine behavior.

This is us Wheel Loader SW is part of the Volvo CE Technology organization and is responsible for the machine software life cycle. We create robust, reliable, and high-quality machine control software that supports the machine and its operators. We work in a global product context and interact across the Technology domain. What you will do

Develop and evolve machine control application software for Volvo CE wheel loaders

Work in a cross-functional agile team to deliver end-to-end functionality

Contribute to requirements, design, implementation, and verification

Work close to the physical machine and validate software on our nearby test track

Drive and participate in continuous improvement initiatives

Collaborate with developers, designers, product owners, and other teams to solve important problems

Contribute to the transformation of a mechanical product into a modern software-driven product

Who we are looking for

You are passionate about machine functionality, software quality, and turning customer and system needs into robust solutions. You enjoy working across disciplines, thrive in an agile setup, and build trust through transparency, commitment, and reliability.

We believe you have

Engineering degree in a relevant area

Experience developing embedded software in C/C++

Experience with Git, Matlab, CAN and Simulink

A focus on readable, maintainable, and high-quality code

Strong collaboration skills and an ability to work effectively in a team

A curious and open mindset with drive and accountability

Willing to relocate to the Eskilstuna area and work onsite daily

Experience in the automotive, heavy equipment, or other embedded systems industries is considered a merit, as is experience using modern AI-assisted software development tools and workflows, and experience with CI/CD and automated testing. We also value a mindset focused on continuous improvement, learning, and knowledge sharing. Swedish communication skills, or the willingness to learn Swedish, are also considered an advantage.
