Role Overview: You will play a crucial role in ensuring maximum uptime, reliability, and performance of BIW production equipment, robotic welding systems, conveyors, fixtures, and automation systems used in truck manufacturing. Your focus will be on meeting safety, quality, cost, and production targets in a safety-first environment while working closely with production, quality, engineering, and automation specialists. Key Responsibilities: - Perform preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance on BIW equipment including robotic spot welding stations, MIG welding equipment, framing and geometry stations, jigs, fixtures, clamps, locators, conveyors, transfer systems, and material handling equipment. - Troubleshoot and maintain industrial robots (ABB, Fanuc, KUKA), diagnose alarms, minimize downtime, and support robot program backup and recovery. - Troubleshoot and maintain PLC and controls systems including HMIs, servo drives, VFDs, and industrial communication networks, and support automation upgrades and equipment modifications. - Drive TPM and reliability improvement initiatives, improving OEE, MTBF, MTTR, and equipment availability using structured root cause analysis (5 Why, Fishbone, Pareto) and FMEA. - Implement predictive maintenance and condition monitoring activities such as vibration analysis, thermography, ultrasonic inspection, and lubrication management; analyze recurring failures and implement corrective actions. - Ensure full compliance with safety and regulatory requirements including LOTO, electrical safety standards, machine guarding, and environmental regulations; participate in audits and risk assessments. - Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and reporting in SAP or VMMS (breakdown, PM compliance, OEE), and manage critical spare parts inventory. - Contribute proactively as a team member in BIW projects, collaborating with production, quality, and engineering stakeholders. Qualification Required: - Education: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering. - Experience: 8-10 years of experience in automotive or commercial vehicle manufacturing. Experience in robotic welding and BIW maintenance is preferred. - Technical skills required: - Mechanical: Strong knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics, hands-on experience maintaining welding equipment, understanding of conveyors and material handling systems, capability in jigs, fixtures, and tooling maintenance. - Electrical and automation: Proven PLC troubleshooting skills, experience working with HMI systems, competence in servo drives and VFDs, understanding of industrial networking and communication, robot diagnostics capability.
