Position and Role Business continuity planning (BCP) Network Engineer Reporting to Technology Manager Employment Type Fulll Time Location Bangalore Office (Nagarabhavi) Timings 09:00 AM to 06:00 PM Role Summary We are looking for a Business Continuity Planning (BCP) Engineer who can design, implement, and maintain business continuity and disaster recovery strategies for our IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of networking, infrastructure, security, backup solutions, and access management to ensure business operations remain resilient during disruptions. Experience 0 1 years of experience in IT Infrastructure, Network Engineering, Information Security, or Business Continuity. Hands-on experience with enterprise infrastructure, backup solutions, and disaster recovery planning is preferred. Key Responsibilities Strategy Testing Procedures Develop, maintain, and test Business Continuity Plans (BCP) and Disaster Recovery (DR) procedures. Coordinate periodic BCP and DR drills and document outcomes. Risk Assessment Failover Systems Perform Business Impact Analysis (BIA) and Risk Assessments. Ensure critical IT systems have appropriate backup, recovery, and failover mechanisms. Collaboration Documentation Collaborate with IT Infrastructure, Security, Cloud, and Application teams to ensure continuity readiness. Maintain documentation for recovery procedures, system dependencies, and critical assets. Continuous Improvement Compliance Identify risks and recommend improvements to enhance business resilience. Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory continuity requirements. Required Technical Skills Good understanding of Computer Networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, Routing, Switching). Knowledge of Network Switches and their configuration principles. Understanding of Firewalls, security policies, and network segmentation. Experience with VPN technologies (Site-to-Site and Remote Access VPNs). Knowledge of Backup and Restore Solutions, backup strategies, retention policies, and recovery validation. Understanding of Disaster Recovery (DR) concepts, RPO, and RTO. Knowledge of Access Control mechanisms, Identity and Access Management (IAM), RBAC, and least-privilege principles. Familiarity with High Availability (HA) and Failover concepts. Basic understanding of Server Infrastructure (Windows/Linux). Knowledge of Virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, or similar). Basic understanding of Cloud Infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) from a continuity perspective. Understanding of Storage Systems, SAN/NAS, and data replication. Knowledge of Network Monitoring and Infrastructure Monitoring tools. Familiarity with IT security best practices and incident response processes. Preferred Skills Experience working with BCP/DR frameworks such as ISO 22301 or NIST. Strong documentation and analytical skills. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities. Good communication and stakeholder coordination skills. Relevant certifications (preferred): ITIL, CCNA, Security+, ISO 22301 Lead Implementer/Auditor, Azure/AWS certifications.
