CAD Manager - Electrical Control Panel Design Location: Georgetown, TX Workplace Type: Onsite Job Type: Full-Time Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM About the Opportunity We are seeking an experienced and motivated CAD Manager to lead our drafting and design team in Georgetown, Texas. The CAD Manager will oversee a team of CAD Drafters while ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and quality of engineering drawings used throughout the design and manufacturing process. This individual will collaborate closely with Project Managers, Production Teams, Engineers, and Leadership to develop efficient drafting standards, improve processes, and deliver high-quality design documentation that supports successful project execution. This role is ideal for a technically skilled drafting professional with leadership experience, strong AutoCAD expertise, and the ability to manage multiple projects while mentoring and developing a high-performing team. Position Summary The CAD Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the CAD Department, leading a team of CAD Drafters, maintaining drafting standards, and overseeing the creation and revision of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment assembly drawings for custom control panel manufacturing. This role combines technical drafting expertise with people leadership, process improvement, project coordination, and quality assurance responsibilities. The successful candidate will ensure all drawings are accurate, compliant with company standards, and delivered on schedule while supporting continuous improvement initiatives throughout the department. Key Responsibilities CAD Team Leadership & Management Lead, supervise, mentor, and develop a team of CAD Drafters.

Assign workloads and manage department priorities to ensure project deadlines are achieved.

Provide technical guidance and support to drafting personnel.

Conduct drawing reviews and quality checks to maintain high standards.

Foster a collaborative and positive team environment focused on continuous improvement.

Assist in training, onboarding, and developing drafting team members.

Design & Drafting Oversight Oversee the creation, revision, and maintenance of: Electrical schematics

Wiring diagrams

Control panel layouts

Equipment assembly drawings

Manufacturing documentation

Ensure all drawings comply with company standards and industry requirements.

Review engineering documentation, specifications, and customer requirements.

Analyze production markups and implement revisions to reflect as-built conditions.

Verify proper component selection and drawing accuracy before release to production.

Develop designs based on customer contracts, project specifications, and engineering requirements.

Project Coordination Collaborate with Project Managers to review upcoming projects and establish drafting priorities.

Ensure drawing deliverables are completed according to project schedules and milestones.

Participate in project planning discussions and provide technical drafting input.

Coordinate with production teams to resolve design issues and improve manufacturability.

Support engineering and operations teams during project execution.

Process Improvement & Quality Control Lead initiatives to improve drafting processes, standards, workflows, and department efficiency.

Conduct regular reviews of drafting procedures and implement best practices.

Develop and maintain standardized drawing templates and documentation processes.

Identify opportunities to improve productivity and reduce errors.

Collaborate with team members to enhance department performance and project outcomes.

Customer & Technical Support Investigate customer concerns related to design documentation.

Develop technical solutions and corrective actions when issues arise.

Prepare reports, recommendations, and supporting documentation for management.

Assist with resolving design discrepancies and production challenges.

Additional Responsibilities Support special projects and department initiatives as assigned.

Maintain accurate project records and documentation.

Participate in company meetings, training programs, and process improvement activities.

Contribute to strategic planning for departmental growth and development.

Required Qualifications Education & Experience Minimum 5 years of professional AutoCAD experience .

Minimum 3 years of team leadership, supervisory, or management experience .

Experience managing multiple projects and competing deadlines.

Experience in electrical drafting, control panel design, industrial automation, or related industries.

Technical Skills Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD.

Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite: Excel
