Embedded Hardware Design Engineer About the Role We are seeking an Embedded Hardware Design Engineer to join our growing engineering team. The company designs, manufactures, integrates, and distributes embedded computing solutions including: Single Board Computers (SBCs)
System on Modules (SoMs)
Carrier Boards
Industrial Panel PCs (PPCs)
Embedded Servers
Custom Embedded Solutions
This is a full-time, in-person opportunity offering a flexible schedule and competitive benefits package. Note: Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Visa sponsorship is not available. Key Responsibilities Schematic capture and PCB layout
Board-level schematic design
Review, revise, and improve existing designs
Participate in the full product design cycle from concept to production release
Support manufacturing with troubleshooting and issue resolution
Analyze customer requirements and determine design feasibility
Create component symbols and footprints
Manage new and existing components in the design library
Evaluate component availability and lifecycle status
Estimate project costs and design timelines
Troubleshoot hardware and software issues
Perform power and functional testing of first production units
Identify critical component parameters and alternative replacements
Validate substitute components in existing designs
Document engineering changes and revisions
Develop test procedures and work instructions for new products
Write simple test programs for product validation
Perform reliability testing across specified temperature ranges
Collaborate with software engineers to define and validate software requirements
Required Qualifications Experience using lab equipment such as: Power supplies
Digital volt meters
Oscilloscopes
Spectrum analyzers
Logic analyzers
Ability to read and interpret electronic component datasheets
Understanding of standard electronic components and functionality (logic gates, transistors, passive components, etc.)
Basic knowledge of microcontrollers or embedded processors
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools

Experience with circuit simulation

Analog and digital troubleshooting skills

Programming experience in C, Python, Bash, or scripting languages

Experience with 3D modeling software

Experience with 3D printing or CNC routers

Knowledge of FCC certification and compliance testing

Soldering and hardware prototyping skills

Familiarity with interfaces such as: USB

Ethernet

I2C

SPI

DDR

Serial Ports

Familiarity with IPC standards (such as IPC-2221)

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field

At least 1 year of relevant experience or internship experience

Working Conditions Occasional standing, walking, sitting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, climbing, balancing

Frequent use of hands and fingers for tools and components

Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs

Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment
