About the role
Client is seeking a Quality Engineering Technician and CMM Programmer to join our growing CNC machining team. We are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented individual who is eager to take ownership of quality processes and help maintain the high standards our customers expect.
Essential Responsibilities: The Quality Engineering Technician / CMM Programmer is a dual-function role responsible for ensuring product quality through inspection, data analysis, and collaboration across departments.
Responsibilities

CMM Programming & Operation: Develop, modify, and optimize CMM inspection programs using Calypso, MetroMech, and/or CMM Manager Software or similar software to accurately measure machined components

Inspection & Measurement: Perform dimensional inspections on in-process and finished parts using CMMs and manual inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other precision instruments

Quality Issue Resolution: Work closely with management and production teams to identify quality issues, conduct root cause analysis, contain non-conforming material, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)

Data Analysis & Documentation: Analyze inspection data, maintain accurate records, and support quality reporting requirements

Equipment Maintenance: Perform calibration, verification, and general upkeep and cleanliness of CMMs and other inspection equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability
Requirements

Proficiency in CMM programming software such as Zeiss machines with Calypso, Metro Mech, and/or CMM Manager Software.

Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and the ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, models and blueprints

Solid background in dimensional inspection and quality control within a manufacturing environment

Highly detail-oriented with a strong commitment to consistent quality and continuous improvement

Self-motivated, dependable, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively

Comfortable working with inspection hand tools such as; height gauges, micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, gauge pins/blocks, optical comparators, as well as finishing tools such as orbital grinders, sanders, files.

Reliable, accountable, and able to shoulder responsibility within the quality department

Strong work ethic with an expectation of consistent attendance and punctuality

Physical Demands: Ability to lift 30 up to 50lbs on a required basis.

Ability to move or transfer parts with a crane or hand cart

Ability to stand and/or stay active for 8-10hours depending on shift
